Answer: When illusory realms appear, yogis, do not cling to them. Like a bird caught by bait, it is because it pursues the food of desire. Do not crave the food of the hook of attachment, yogi! In the mirror of the pure Alaya consciousness, wipe away the dust of the six consciousnesses. The clear images of the six objects arise, but the ignorant child grasps them as real. Experiencing the pleasure and pain of attachment and aversion. The uncreated Alaya consciousness is the essence of the Dharmadhatu. The six consciousnesses are unceasing, without clinging. The six objects are clear, but their essence is empty. How foolish is the child who clings to reality, the wise are free from clinging to self-appearance. Yogi, cut off that clinging! In the ungraspable sky of the ground, the dark clouds of the five poisons of affliction gather. The thunder of self-grasping roars, raining down various karmic rains. Attachment stirs the mud of samsara, the seedlings of suffering of the six realms grow. With the sunlight of higher vision wisdom, illuminate the sun of the Dharmadhatu. With the frost of samatha and mindfulness, dispel the clouds of thought in the sky. The thunder of self-grasping vanishes on its own, the rain of karma is cut off at its root. The mud of clinging is dried by the sun. Although the seeds of the six realms are dry, the crops of suffering are still green. Yogi, do not doubt. The prince with qualities is stolen by the ministers, wandering in a friendless land seeking honey. Relying on mixed and impure food, neither self nor others recognize him. The Brahmin who knows the signs discerns the lineage, asks the foolish son, and entrusts him to the master who understands reality. Emerging from the bath of the two accumulations of purity, adorned with the precious jewel of the essential instructions. Seated on the precious throne of realization, holding the kingdom of the Buddhas of the three times. Yogi, rely on the Lama! The ungrounded mind is like a wild deer, wandering in the wilderness of karma. Thirsting for the water of the mirage of attachment, dying at the end of the six realms of samsara. The valleys are filled with traces of flesh and blood, now bind the ungrounded awareness to the sky. Without encountering the conditions of the six consciousnesses, run in the vast expanse of great luminosity. For the water of the mirage of desire, do not cling to attachment, cut off the thirst of desire within.

Where causes and conditions do not harmonize, sleep in the realm of great equality. To the unconditioned essence beyond thought, the archer of unwavering mindfulness, straightens the face of the unconditioned essence. Cut off the root of hope and fear, gather into the scope of the four joys, and infuse the co-emergent nectar. Fashioning the bowstring of skillful means and wisdom, affix the feathers of the four instants, and shoot towards the direction of self-grasping. Pierce the heart with the wild boar of ignorance, sever the life-force of the grasped and the grasper, and no longer wander in the realm of samsara. O yogi, rejoice! When the realm dawns without attachment, desirable qualities become friends on the path. The color of the lotus is clear in the mud. O yogi, cherish and protect your experience as you please. When you realize that phenomena are without inherent existence, the life-force is the great union. It is comfortable to loosen the golden fetters of the elephant. O yogi, abandon effort. That horse of equalizing awareness, without falling into the trap of grasping and being grasped, loosen the hardness of clinging to self and other, and gallop freely on the impartial plain. That madman who bursts forth with the power of experience, without binding him in iron with antidotes, release him from the house of pretense, and let him abide freely in whatever place he pleases. That great garuda of conceptual thought, without clinging to the food of doctrines, and without fearing the abyss of delusion, let him soar in the impartial sky. That wish-fulfilling jewel of fruition, without being stained by the dirt of hope and fear, and without remaining in the land of longing, obtain the prayers of needs and desires as they are requested. Having seized the unwavering stronghold, with the rays of compassion, impartially, become the father and mother of the six realms of beings. That armor of vows made in the past, now is the time, Samaya! Thus he spoke, and with a great encouraging sound, proclaimed like the thunder of the end of an age, and vanished invisibly, together with the edge of the sky. The Long Song of the Dakini is complete. The Gentle Song of the Dakini.
