The Quintessential Instruction of the Dakini, Called "The Valid Measure of True Words" The Quintessential Instruction of the Dakini, Called "The Valid Measure of True Words" In Sanskrit: Āha pramaṇa saṃmyagnāma ḍākinyupadeśa. In Tibetan: The Quintessential Instruction of the Dakini, Called "The Valid Measure of True Words." Homage to the glorious Great Vajradhara! According to the difference in beings' minds, there are gradual and sudden paths. The gradual method is a great medicine, while the sudden method is a great poison. The sudden method is a great medicine, while the gradual method turns into a poison. Therefore, for those who have already trained, the sudden method should be taught. For sentient beings who are beginners, the gradual method should be taught. First, to tame the afflictions, one should thoroughly differentiate the elements. One should meditate on the dissolution of the aggregates, according to the path shown by the guru. One should fully ripen the disciples, and understand from the generation stage texts. One should learn about solitary speech and wind meditation from the guru's mouth. The quintessential instruction on focusing on the mind is the quintessential instruction on great bliss. The quintessential instruction on bodhicitta should be learned from the guru's mouth. The quintessential instruction on mahamudra should be understood from the condensed quintessential instructions. When training in tummo and clear light, one should meditate on the illusory body. There are two: learning and non-learning. Among learning, there are also two: The stages of realization and abiding particularly in oneself. In the stages of realization, during the times of secret empowerment, On a stainless mirror, One should skillfully paint Vajrasattva, and its reflection is like appearance. Like this, one should realize through the twelve similes of illusion. In abiding particularly in oneself, there are the four aspects of transference, entering a corpse, dreams, and bardo. There are also three types of upward transference: The method of the generation stage, the actual illusory body, and clear light. In the method of the generation stage, with letters such as (Tibetan: ཀྵུཾ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:), one should also block the apertures. One's own mind should be visualized as the body of a deity, like a rainbow. Or one can gather into the letter (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:hūṃ), expel through the Brahma aperture, and abide again and again in the Akaniṣṭha heaven, continuously. When meditation becomes stable in this way, one should know the times and signs. At the time of transference, one should send the consciousness to its place. By doing this, transference will occur.

The transference of purity is: In the dream arising from below, one should become accustomed to it thirty times, transferring it to the place of the three channels. There, whatever one has previously meditated on, lead the habit and meditate on it. Because it is the place of generating bliss, having attained non-conceptual wisdom, one will attain Buddhahood in this very life, without any doubt. This is the supreme conduct of mantra practitioners, while those who adhere to characteristics will fall. The transference of clear light is: One should know the time of death, and with the mind abiding in non-conceptuality, through the activities of the body, one should enter into the clear light, and attain nirvana in the bardo. These are the transferences after having learned. If the mind abides in the clear light, it is the great yoga of one who is learning. There is also transference without having learned. If one abides in the union of the two truths, one will not learn in any pure land again. This instruction, the elixir that turns things into gold, whoever it touches at the time of death, that thing will be transformed into gold in nirvana. Therefore, the guru is skilled in means. To enter the city in this regard is: Clearly visualize the object in front, without distraction of breath and mind, focus and become accustomed to it for a long time. Thus, one can perform the activities of the mental body, and the visualization becomes clearer and clearer. Having become accustomed to this for a long time, one takes a body endowed with merit, abandons one's own body, and accomplishes all the benefit of sentient beings. There are also five aspects of dreams: To know memory and illusion, to train and lead habits, and to transfer upwards. To know and meditate on memory is: Even when not falling asleep, one should send forth desires in advance. The awareness when falling asleep, with memory, repeatedly waits. Each time one waits for sleep, superior, middling, and inferior will arise at the time of waking. Having thus stabilized memory, one should know dreams as illusion. Even when not falling asleep, one should know the appearance of the world as illusion. The real illusion is the dream. Because one has not known this dream as illusion, and has not known the bardo as illusion, the existence of the bardo cannot be prevented. Therefore, one takes birth again and again, wandering in the three realms of samsara. Thus, dreams are the opposite of reality. If the mind cannot enter, one should proceed in advance. Even when not falling asleep, one should know the appearance of the world as illusion, the signs of the generation stage, and attachment is very little.
