The Quintessential Instructions on Mahamudra Called "The Treasury of Dohas" The Quintessential Instructions on Mahamudra Called "The Treasury of Dohas" In Sanskrit: Doha Kosha Nama Mahamudra Upadesha. In Tibetan: The Quintessential Instructions on Mahamudra Called "The Treasury of Dohas." Homage to glorious Vajrayogini! Homage to the co-emergent wisdom, the dharmakaya, great bliss! Just as the real and unreal, appearance and emptiness, cause and non-cause, movement and non-movement, all without exception arise from the nature of space, they never move at any time. Although one speaks of space, space, the essence of space is not established in any way. It transcends the realm of designation as existent, nonexistent, neither existent nor nonexistent, and other than that. Thus, there is not the slightest difference between space, mind, and the nature of reality. The name of difference is merely an arbitrary designation. It is just a meaningless, false word. All phenomena are one's own mind. Apart from the mind, there is not even a particle of another phenomenon. Whoever realizes the absence of mind from the very beginning finds the supreme intention of the Buddhas of the three times. It is widely known as the treasury of dharma. That is not another false dharma, but the co-emergent nature from the beginning. Its suchness cannot be shown, and because it is inexpressible, no one understands it. If there is an owner, there is wealth, but since there is no owner from the beginning, what is there? If there is mind, then all dharmas should exist, but who will realize a dharma in the absence of mind? All that appears as mind and things, if searched for, cannot be found, and the searcher is not there from the beginning. The absence is unborn and unceasing in the three times, and that which does not change into another is the natural state of great bliss. Therefore, all appearances are the dharmakaya, and all sentient beings are Buddhas themselves. All actions are primordially the sphere of reality, and designated dharmas are like rabbit horns. Alas! The sun is cloudless, and its rays pervade everywhere, but to those without eyes, it appears as darkness. Although the co-emergent pervades all, it is very far from the deluded. Because beings do not realize the absence of mind, they bind their own minds with designated minds. Like madmen possessed by demons, they suffer helplessly and meaninglessly.

Like that. Those possessed by the great demon of grasping at reality and conceptualization, merely create meaningless suffering. Some bind the deluded with the distinctions of intellect, leaving the master at home and seeking elsewhere. Some grasp at reflections as demons, some abandon the root and cut off the branches. No matter what they do, they do not realize they are being deceived. Alas, though the foolish do not recognize it, I realize that it is unmoved from its own state. Because I know the beginning and end of myself, I see myself and remain alone. Looking at that very oneness, one does not see one. Because seeing and the seer are separate, it is inexpressible. Who could understand what is inexpressible? When one has cultivated the innate mind, then my hermitage becomes an entry into realization. A lion's milk is not for ordinary, inferior vessels. Just as in the forest, the roar of a lion frightens all the small deer, so too, the lion cubs run with joy. Likewise, when this originally unborn great bliss is taught, though it frightens the deluded and those with wrong views, the fortunate rejoice greatly and their hair stands on end. Alas, do not be distracted, look at yourself with your own mind. If you realize your own nature with your own mind, then even the distracted mind will arise as the great seal. In the state of great bliss, where signs are self-liberated, all the happiness and suffering of dreams are without nature when one is awake. Having stirred up everything with thoughts of hope and doubt, who then creates thoughts of rejection and acceptance? All the phenomena of samsara and nirvana are without nature because of seeing that very thing. Because the mind of hope and doubt is exhausted, what need is there for effort in abandoning and adopting? All appearances and sounds are like illusions and mirages, and like reflections, without substance or characteristics. The very mind that perceives illusions is like the sky, without limit or center, which no one can know. Just as various rivers such as the Ganges become one taste in the salty ocean, so too, all the various imputed minds and mental events. Strive to know them as one taste in the realm of phenomena. Although one may search the expanse of the sky, there is no end or middle, and seeing is completely stopped. Likewise, by completely searching the mind and phenomena, one does not find even a particle of essence, and because the very mind that searches everywhere is imperceptible, there is nothing.
