The Song of Conduct Called Doha Kośa The Song of Conduct Called Doha Kośa In Sanskrit: Dohakośa-nāma-caryā-gīti. In Tibetan: The Song of Conduct Called Doha Kośa. Homage to the Noble Mañjuśrī! Homage to the one who utterly destroys the power of demons! Like water that is not moved by the wind, But when moved, turns into great waves. Likewise, The appearance of a king shooting an arrow, Although one, makes various appearances. Like looking with inverted perception due to ignorance, A single flame appears as two. In that, there is no duality of observer and observed, Alas! The mind appears as an object of duality. Even if many lamps are lit in a house, Those without eyes remain in darkness. Although born together, pervading everything, Even though near, it is very far for the ignorant. Various rivers are also one ocean, Many falsehoods are overcome by one truth. When one sun appears, It also destroys many darknesses. Just as clouds take water from the ocean, And fill the earth, Yet it does not diminish, being equal to the sky, Without increase or decrease. The nature of the single co-emergent, Completely filled with the splendor of the Victorious Ones. From that, beings arise and cease, In that, there is neither thing nor non-thing. Having abandoned the bliss of the Holy Ones, one goes elsewhere, Hoping for the happiness that arises from conditions. The honey placed in one's own mouth, so near, One does not drink it, but it becomes very far. Animals do not suffer, But the wise suffer from it. One drinks the nectar of the sky, While others are attached to objects. The worm in excrement is attached to the smell, And thinks of sandalwood as a bad odor. Just as having abandoned Nirvāṇa, One is attached to the thick source of existence. Even if a cow's footprint is filled with water, It will also dry up. Not perfection, perfection is a steadfast mind, Otherwise, perfection will also dry up. Just as the salty water of the ocean, Is taken by the mouth of the clouds and becomes sweet. Accomplishing the benefit of others with a steadfast mind, The poison of objects also becomes

Now it turns to ashes. If it is unspeakable, then it is not suffering. If it is unmeditable, then it is bliss. Just as the sound of the dragon's thunder frightens, But the falling rain makes the crops ripen. The first and the last are not found elsewhere. There is no beginning, no end, no middle. For sentient beings deluded by pervasive conceptualization, Liberation comes through speaking of emptiness and compassion. Just as the honey within a flower, Is known only by the bee itself. Neither samsara nor nirvana will be abandoned. How can the ignorant understand like a rabbit? Just as the image of a face on the surface of a mirror, Is seen by the ignorant who do not understand. Likewise, this mind that has abandoned truth, Will rely more on falsehood. Although the fragrance of a flower has no form, It manifestly pervades everywhere. Similarly, through the formless nature, Also understand the mandala and the dharma wheel. When wind enters water and stirs it, The smooth water also becomes like a stone. Stirred by conceptualization, the ignorant formless, Becomes very hard and solidified. The nature of the mind is without defilement, Neither samsara nor nirvana are stained by mud. If placed in mud, the supreme jewel, Its light will not be clear. When ignorance is clear, wisdom will not be clear, When ignorance is clear, suffering will be clear. Just as from a seed sprouts a seedling, From the cause of the seedling comes a branch. By analyzing one and many in the mind, Abandoning clarity, one goes into samsara. Seeing clearly yet going into the abyss, What could be more pitiable than this? Being completely attached to the pleasure of union, The ignorant say that this is the ultimate truth. Some come out of the house and stand at the door, Asking about the story of Kamarupa. From the cause of wind, In an empty house, False decorations are made in various ways. Falling from the sky, accompanied by faults, Becoming a yogi who has conquered suffering. Just as a Brahmin uses ghee and rice, To make a fire offering to the blazing fire. This is produced by the essence of space, Know that this is attachment itself. Some ignite light in the place of Brahma, Moving the tongue everywhere, stirring the uvula with the tongue. Binding
