He transforms into a wrathful form to subdue. Whom does he terrify? The Lord terrifies even the great fearsome ones like Vishnu and Mahadeva. What is the nature of the extraordinary path? "The protector is the supreme of lineages, the lama is the supreme of secret mantras, he abides in the way of the Great Vehicle, the supreme of the way of the Great Vehicle." Thus it is said, being supreme among the lineages of deities of body, speech, and mind who protect and save those to be tamed, and being a lama because he closely shows the sacred Dharma to beings, and being the supreme of secret mantras because he shows the distinctions of skillful means and wisdom. Moreover: Though the meaning is one, there is no confusion; with many methods, there is no difficulty; by empowering those of sharp faculties, one goes to the stages and the far shore. The teaching of mantra is especially excellent. As it is said. Moreover, the Great Vehicle is distinguished by wisdom and compassion. In order to lead the fortunate ones into it, he himself also abides in it, thus showing this nature. The way of this Great Vehicle is superior to the pāramitās. How is it superior? Because it shows that samsara and nirvana are inseparable. Fifth: The chapter on Mañjuśrī Jñānasattva is taught from the door of the root bodhicitta.
