Fifth, explaining the chapter on Manjushri Wisdom Sattva through the door of the root Bodhicitta. Fifth, explaining the chapter on Manjushri Wisdom Sattva through the door of the root Bodhicitta. Now, explaining the chapter on Manjushri Wisdom Sattva through the door of the root Bodhicitta. As it is said, "Thus, the Buddha, the Bhagavan," etc. Now, to explain its name in detail, it should be said as follows. The cause of the arising of the perfect Buddha is from meditating on the unborn Dharma, therefore it is said, "The perfect Buddha arises from A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A)." Then, why does it arise from a single letter A? Because "A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) is the best of all letters." Why is it the best? Because it is the letter that explains the great meaning of the Dharma, therefore it is said, "It has great meaning, it is a sacred letter." And why is that? Because it explains the great meaning of unborn, it is said, "It arises from the heart, it is unborn." Other letters depend on teeth, tongue, lips, and palate, etc., but A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) does not depend on these, but arises naturally from the heart, therefore it is sacred among all letters. Because it abides in the unspeakable, it is said, "Abandoning speech." Because it becomes the main cause of all sounds of speech and can enter into all things, it is said, "It is the cause of all speech, it makes all words clearly manifest," etc. Then, how to abandon afflictions? "Great offering is great desire, it makes all beings rejoice," etc. Because that offering is to make the gods rejoice, therefore it is an offering. Here, it is necessary to achieve wisdom without abandoning afflictions, which is in accordance with offering oneself. Then apply it to everything. The great sound, for example, the mantra that dispels poison is called a poison mantra, similarly, because it destroys the inharmonious side, it is great. Desire is an attachment to the equality of afflictions. Therefore, it separates one from wrong desire and generates undefiled joy. "Great offering is great anger, it is the great enemy of all afflictions" refers to having anger that destroys conceptual thoughts, but since anger cannot destroy itself, it is the greatest enemy. "Great offering is great delusion, ignorance is mind, it can eliminate ignorance."

It means that because it possesses the ignorance of not considering phenomena as different, it cannot eliminate ignorance itself. Great offering, great anger. Great anger, great enemy. Thus it is said, because it does not nourish afflictions, anger is great. Indeed, because anger cannot destroy itself, the enemy is great. Great offering, great desire. Eliminates all desires. It means that it is attached to the bliss of the uncontaminated, but cannot eliminate the attachment of miserliness. To this, the higher destroys, the lower is destroyed. If these are applied to pith instructions, there are four ways: For those to be tamed who are attached to these afflictions, without abandoning these afflictions, in accordance with the following, through the method of behavior, liberation is achieved, which is the offering of liberation in accordance with behavior. Afflictions are transformed into the five wisdoms, which is the offering of transformed wisdom. Liberation from the five afflictions, obtaining the great mudra of the five families, which is the offering of liberation great mudra. If afflictions are examined, their essence is unestablished, abiding in the nature of reality, which is the offering of self-purification. Great desire, great bliss. Great joy, great satisfaction. It means that for those who have the mind of desiring the liberation of sentient beings, it generates the bliss of liberation, and because it teaches the Dharma, it is joyful, and because it understands the meaning, it is satisfied. Great form, great body. Great color, great physique. Great name, great extent. Great mandala, vast. It means that it appears as a form empty of inherent existence, and also manifests as a body like that of an outcaste. This is also accomplished by wisdom, so it is called great. In order to indicate the inner wisdom luminosity, the body has radiance, so the color is great. Because it overwhelms others, the physique is great. Because it has great fame, the name is great. Because the accumulation of merit is vast, the extent is great. Here, profundity and vastness are inseparable, and all the Nobikas appear, so it is a great mandala. Because it pervades all and there is no obstruction, it is vast. To this, the distinction of wisdom is: Wisdom is a great weapon, afflictions are the best of great iron hooks. Great fame, is great renown. Great appearance, is great clarity. Thus it is said, the weapon of wisdom destroys afflictions. For example, for afflictions like a mad elephant, with the iron hook of wisdom
