Explanation of the Tantra of the Ritual for Meditating on the Wheel of the Vajra Mandala Explanation of the Tantra of the Ritual for Meditating on the Wheel of the Vajra Mandala Therefore, this is the Tantra of the Ritual for Meditating on the Wheel of the Vajra Mandala. First, in one's own heart, on top of the sun disc, visualize the four seed syllables that have become the great elements: Yaṃ (Tibetan, yam, Devanagari, yam, Romanized Sanskrit, yam, meaning to subdue), Maṃ (Tibetan, mam, Devanagari, mam, Romanized Sanskrit, mam, meaning pride), Raṃ (Tibetan, ram, Devanagari, ram, Romanized Sanskrit, ram, meaning fire), and Jaṃ (Tibetan, jam, Devanagari, jam, Romanized Sanskrit, jam, meaning water). In the north, east, south, and west directions respectively, they have the colors of blue, yellow, red, and white, and are endowed with light. Then, from the letter Maṃ (Tibetan, mam, Devanagari, mam, Romanized Sanskrit, mam, meaning pride), by stimulating with "Oṃ Vajra Maṃ Spharaṇa" (Tibetan, oṃ vajra mam spharaṇa, Devanagari, oṃ vajra mam spharaṇa, Romanized Sanskrit, oṃ vajra mam spharaṇa, Om Vajra Mam Pervade), the wisdom vajra arises from the letter Maṃ (Tibetan, mam, Devanagari, mam, Romanized Sanskrit, mam, meaning pride) and pervades all realms of the world. It touches all beings' conceptualizations of pride that are associated with ignorance, as well as all external and internal aspects. By this, all the impurities are completely purified and become inseparable. Having become inseparable from the wisdom vajra itself, the vajra itself also becomes invisible. Then, from the letter Jaṃ (Tibetan, jam, Devanagari, jam, Romanized Sanskrit, jam, meaning water), by stimulating with "Oṃ Vajra Jaṃ Svaraṇa" (Tibetan, oṃ vajra jam svarana, Devanagari, oṃ vajra jam svarana, Romanized Sanskrit, oṃ vajra jam svarana, Om Vajra Jam Sound), the wisdom water arises from the letter Jaṃ (Tibetan, jam, Devanagari, jam, Romanized Sanskrit, jam, meaning water) and pervades all realms of the world. It touches all beings' conceptualizations of desire that are associated with ignorance, as well as all external and internal water. By this, all impurities are purified, and it becomes inseparable from the wisdom water, and the wisdom water itself also becomes invisible. Then, from the letter Raṃ (Tibetan, ram, Devanagari, ram, Romanized Sanskrit, ram, meaning fire), by stimulating with "Oṃ Vajra Raṃ Spharaṇa" (Tibetan, oṃ vajra ram spharaṇa, Devanagari, oṃ vajra ram spharaṇa, Romanized Sanskrit, oṃ vajra ram spharaṇa, Om Vajra Ram Pervade), the wisdom fire arises from Raṃ (Tibetan, ram, Devanagari, ram, Romanized Sanskrit, ram, meaning fire) and pervades all realms of the world. It touches all beings' conceptualizations of hatred that are associated with ignorance, as well as all exter nal and internal fire. By this, all impurities are purified, and it becomes inseparable from the wisdom fire, and the wisdom fire itself also becomes invisible. Then, from the letter Yaṃ (Tibetan, yam, Devanagari, yam, Romanized Sanskrit, yam, meaning to subdue), by stimulating with "Oṃ Vajra Yaṃ Spharaṇa" (Tibetan, oṃ vajra yam spharaṇa, Devanagari, oṃ vajra yam spharaṇa, Romanized Sanskrit, oṃ vajra yam spharaṇa, Om Vajra Yam Pervade), the wisdom wind arises from it and pervades all realms of the world. It touches all beings' conceptualizations of jealousy that are associated with ignorance.

I am touched by all the outer and inner winds, thereby purifying all defilements, becoming inseparable from the wind of wisdom, and even that wind of wisdom becomes invisible in itself. Then, contemplate how the nature of completely purifying all defilements, the essence of inseparability of self and others' continuums, merely the self-awareness of wisdom, like an illusion, becomes one taste with the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Then, with the arising of great compassion, immediately the very nature of Bodhicitta becomes a single sun mandala. That sun mandala, like a mandala wheel, has nine parts in the center, is square with doors, and is round all around the outer circumference, possessing the characteristic of radiating light. Contemplate that the central part has the letter ཡ་ (Tibetan, ya, ya, literal Chinese meaning: ya), the color is dark blue, surrounded by a chain of light. Contemplate that the eastern part has the letter ཀྵེ་ (Tibetan, kṣe, kṣe, literal Chinese meaning: Ke Xie), the color is white, surrounded by a chain of light. Contemplate that the southern part has the letter མ་ (Tibetan, ma, ma, literal Chinese meaning: Ma), the color is yellow, surrounded by a chain of light. Contemplate that the western part has the letter མེ་ (Tibetan, me, me, literal Chinese meaning: Mai), the color is red, surrounded by a chain of light. Contemplate that the northern part has the letter ད་ (Tibetan, da, da, literal Chinese meaning: Da), the color is green, surrounded by a chain of light. Those chains of light, first from the light of their respective colors, radiate outward like the sun's rays, very brightly. Then, the southeast part has the letter ཛཱ་ (Tibetan, dzā, dza, literal Chinese meaning: Za), the color is white, with a chain of light. The southwest part has the letter ས་ (Tibetan, sa, sa, literal Chinese meaning: Sa), the color is blue, with a chain of light. The northwest part has the letter ཛ་ (Tibetan, ja, ja, literal Chinese meaning: Za), the color is red, with a chain of light. The northeast part has the letter རུ་ (Tibetan, ru, ru, literal Chinese meaning: Ru), the color is green, with a chain of light. In those outer corners, the southeast has the letter ཎ་ (Tibetan, ṇa, na, literal Chinese meaning: Na), the color is white, with a chain of light. The southwest has the letter ཡོ་ (Tibetan, yo, yo, literal Chinese meaning: Yo), the color is dark blue, with a chain of light. The northwest has the letter ནི་ (Tibetan, ni, ni, literal Chinese meaning: Ne), the color is red, with a chain of light. The northeast has the letter རཱ་ (Tibetan, rā, ra, literal Chinese meaning: La), the color is green, with a chain of light. Those eight chains of light, first are the same as their own
