Chapter Two: Explaining the Meaning of Bodhichitta Chapter Two: Explaining the Meaning of Bodhichitta Now, after explaining the initial practice of faith and the opening of the mandala, the explanation begins from "the ultimate bodhichitta, common and special." "From then on" means immediately after opening the mandala. The practice involves making offerings and so on, and praying. Its vow is "the supreme of body, speech, and mind," where body is the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body), speech is the Nirmanakaya (emanation body), and mind is the Dharmakaya (truth body). Because it is the nature of these, it is the secret of all beings, and because it is special, it is supreme and unsurpassed. Bodhichitta is the self-nature, and because it is the cause of all, it is the essence, the seed. "From then on" means immediately after being asked. "Completely knowing" means knowing without doubt all that has been asked. How does one know? One knows with the wisdom nature of knowing things as they are and knowing things as far as they extend, knowing with the mind. "You" refers to the Bodhisattva. "Mind like body" and so on, refers to negating the mind that clings to anything without the aspect of an object or its own nature. To show that body and mind are non-dual, it also negates the body produced by conceptualization, therefore it is said "body like mind." Pure mind is like that, and mind like verbal expression refers to showing that speech and mind are inseparable in an upward and downward manner, to negate what is produced by conceptualization. Therefore, it says: the body is the realm of form, speech and mind are the realms of desire and formlessness, which are with aspects. That is born from the inseparable union of enjoyment, emanation, and dharma nature, and that is shown to be applied to each one. What the listeners say after hearing the teachings is said from "from then on" and so on. In this, in the essence of non-dual wisdom, all the Tathagatas speak like vajras joined like the sky, which is a synonym for saying. Speaking for the sake of others is speaking while sitting in front. Emaho and so on, this is the meaning of being very wonderful, it is the meaning of not arising from grasping and being grasped, in that way, things

Its nature is birth, thus it is shown that it has been well proclaimed. Thus, after the common statement, it is especially said by the six Buddhas, relying on what you call the mind, the nature of the mind, the Bodhicitta of the Vajradhara, is from then on, and so on. The way of attaining enlightenment in the manner of Vajradhara is related to dwelling in the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. Similarly, form and so on that are possessed, meditating on non-things is the thing itself. If asked: What form and so on should be meditated on as the thing itself? Answer: That is also because it is only a complete calculation, it is not meditation. Thus, since both things that exist and things that do not exist are not, meditation is without an object. The meaning of these is said in this way: The quiescence of things that exist and do not exist is the thing itself, and the nature of dependent arising in the conventional does not prevent appearance. The ground of such existence is also true, and no thing is established, and faults are extremely purified, and this will be shown. Now, relying on the order of mind like body, it is said by Vairochana Buddha, from then on, and so on. Immediately after the mind, the nature of the body is shown, so it is said from then on. The meaning like a mirror, what is the nature of non-duality, that is the direct perception, etc., that is in that. All things and form, etc. Completely calculated by wrongly grasping the self in a person, etc. Those who are separated from it are outsiders, and their five aggregates, eighteen realms, and twelve places are considered to be so. Because it is the grasper and the grasped, it is the characteristic of complete calculation. By completely abandoning it, even in the Dharma of aggregates, etc., because of the equality of selflessness, it is especially declared in the Mahayana. That is, in the ultimate sense, in the characteristic of other-dependence, when one's own mind does not focus, it is considered to be so, and that is the establishment of the Vijnanavada doctrine. Furthermore, the difference of the unborn is said, saying that it is unborn from the beginning, the very nature of dependence is unborn and undestroyed, and the thing itself is also truly known. That itself, especially what is made firm, is emptiness.
