Fourth Chapter: Explanation of Manifestly Awakening to Enlightenment. Fourth Chapter: Explanation of Manifestly Awakening to Enlightenment. Having explained the third chapter, the fourth is now taught. In "Vajrasattva" and so on, "Vajrasattva" is the great Vajradhara. All emptiness is the characteristic of luminosity previously explained. Having prostrated to the one who teaches it, I shall explain the order of manifest enlightenment. In "This is" and so on, "This is" refers to the nature of supreme bliss. "Self-born" refers to ultimate joy. It is also self-knowing because it is the nature inferred from the great elements. "Bhagavan" refers to the one who has abandoned the two obscurations. "Alone" refers to the incomparable one. "Superior" refers to the one who has become special. "Only the deity" refers to the deity itself, the four goddesses such as the eye. That is its lord, the meaning of the lord of the wheel. However, the Vajra Master should be regarded as superior even to the Vajradhara because he gives the oral instructions. Because By pleasing him, everything is accomplished. Therefore, he should be pleased. From "should" and so on, up to "then think of wisdom in this way," the thirteen verses are easy to understand. However, here, pleasing the guru, and offering to him, and sealing with hand seals, and offering the gathering, and the ritual of absorption, and taking the mind of enlightenment, and the order of empowerment, and emptiness, and requesting prophecy, these ten meanings of words should be understood. All of these are clarified in the consecration ritual I have done, so it should be viewed there. Now the order of unsurpassed prophecy is shown. In "The part of the night of appearance" and so on, "night part" refers to the waning moon, covered by the darkness of ignorance. "Night part" refers to a quarter of the night, or the entire night. Its antidote, the first appearance of wisdom, appears like moonlight, is, meaning everything will change. The solar part refers to the waxing moon, or the entire day. There, the appearance spreads.

The boundary is extremely clear, possessing a thousand rays of wisdom light, densely and clearly arising. The boundary is the space between two directions. The moment when night completely vanishes and the sun rises is the instant of the boundary. To gain appearance there means the third wisdom arises universally. All afflictions are exhausted, and wisdom is gained simultaneously, like a tree being burned and a lamp being lit. These are not just once, but many times, using one's own seven natures to eradicate afflictions, combining them at the appropriate time, which will universally combine. At other times, if separated from this, it will not combine again. This shows the characteristic of the three wisdoms being non-inverted. "Non-boundary" and so on, show the characteristic of the fourth, emptiness of all. In whatever situation, the function of the boundary is reversed, and it is separated from the parts of night and day. Whatever is separated from all natures is completely abandoned. The venerable guru has pointed this out correctly and without inversion, and at the time of making predictions, one should understand the instant of enlightenment. This is also understood through the yoga of meditating equally when day and night are divided, and not through other distracted minds. To clearly show this, in "the end of the boundary" and so on, the clarity of the boundary completely disappears, and the collection of darkness, having completely disappeared and been exhausted, with a thousand rays of sunlight, until the sun rises from the mountain, all distractions of conceptual thought are abandoned in an instant. The guru, being very pleased with the disciple, made a prophecy of the clear light of the true end. "Outer" refers to showing the order of the five manifest enlightenments. The inner bliss therein is the mind being gathered inward, and it is obtained through the power of its blessings. What is it? It is that which can be expressed in words, and it is the characteristic of experience. This is the unsurpassed state, all afflictions are exhausted, and the pure continuum arises. This is the enlightenment of the Buddhas of the past, future, and present, completely transcending all elaborations, and all the realm of phenomena.
