The Second Chapter: Explanation of the Supreme Intent. The Second Chapter: Explanation of the Supreme Intent. Having thus fully explained all the limbs of the Vajra Recitation sequence, now the second, the characteristic of merely focusing on the mind, is shown. In "Homage," and so forth, here, with the word of six kinds of homage, because of the nature of the five Tathagatas, and because the sixth lineage is the main lord, praise is given to the Bhagavan Vajradhara himself. How is praise given? It is the invocation of those worthy of praise. "By the nature of the reality of sound." This is praise. Where and by what is praise given? By whatever means, the three are not perceived. This is the concluding statement. To show that non-perception itself, "How" and so forth are spoken. How, like water into water, and oil into oil, it becomes mixed and without distinction, not known separately. Likewise, seeing one's own wisdom with oneself is the meaning of the word homage here. If the three are perceived, will wisdom also cease to exist? To dispel the doubt that some may have, "However" and so forth are spoken. The word "However" is a question and a gathering of meaning. It enters into the second aspect. "All" means that all become the object of consciousness. "That which conforms to the all-knowing and becomes a measure" is the attainment of the all-knowing, the reliable person, the former teacher. Without that, that wisdom is not attained. Why? Because of "darkness" and so forth. The dimness of ignorance impairs the eye of consciousness. Therefore, a good thought like a jewel, for some people, through kindness, arises from venerating the guru. Appearance is the meaning of having obtained the appearance of wisdom. This clearly shows that the consciousness arising from clear light is itself called mind and intellect, which are synonyms. It is the nature of both complete defilement and complete purification, the root of all phenomena. Therefore, if there is consciousness dependent on wind there, the two kinds of conceptualization will greatly increase. As it is said.

When there is talk of self and other, the distinction of self and other harms the holding. If they are all bound, all faults will increase. So it is said. Therefore, fire arises from wind, water from fire, and earth from water. From these arise the five aggregates, the twelve sources, and the objects. At that moment, the nature of the three consciousnesses, the flow of appearance, is clearly experienced. From the cause of appearance, all natures arise, this is the oral instruction. The three consciousnesses are also skillful means and wisdom, as well as clarity and obscurity, these are names. Among them, appearance and the increase of appearance are the essence of skillful means and wisdom, the bright side. The necessary symbolic words are hermaphroditic words, and obtaining appearance is the obscure side. Furthermore, mind and intellect and consciousness, as well as other-power and perfect reality, desire and hatred and ignorance, these are names, all are the common dharma of samsara. The antidote to that is the dharma of completely purified essence, therefore the Mahayana practitioners declare uncommon names, so-called appearance, which is emptiness, extreme emptiness, great emptiness, appearance, increase of appearance, obtaining appearance, mind, mental factors, detachment from desire, intermediate desire. The fourth is also the nature of praising everything, it should be known by the difference of cause and effect. That itself is clearly shown, wisdom and so on, wisdom is seeing no-self. Skillful means is great compassion. Their perfect union is non-duality, generating the wisdom of perfect attainment. Among them, the nature of luminosity, all generate the wisdom of emptiness, thus, the order of causes is completely pure and without defilement, it should be combined as obtaining the supreme state. Furthermore, The three consciousnesses are completely purified, the three emptinesses are completely united, this thoroughly shows the essence of cause and effect, that is appearance and emptiness and wisdom and primordial wisdom and the essence of other-power, and mind, this is spoken of as names. The characteristic of the nature of mind
