The third branch: explaining the complete stillness of speech. The third branch: explaining the complete stillness of speech. The complete stillness of speech has two aspects: stillness from ordinary people and stillness from yogis. To demonstrate stillness from ordinary people, the "Five Wisdoms" and so on are taught. Generally, sentient beings' bodies have five root winds and five branch winds, totaling ten. As stated in the great yoga tantra called Vajra: "Life and downward-clearing, dwelling with fire, upward-moving, pervasive, moving, completely moving, correctly moving, extremely moving, and definitely moving." These ten winds are exhaling, inhaling, and transforming into the nature of the five wisdoms like a mirror, therefore they are called breaths of the nature of the five wisdoms. The winds and so on are the nature of the five elements, therefore they are the essence of the five elements. These winds transform into three states: entering, dwelling, and rising, therefore they are clumps. They transform into the forms of Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:唵), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), manifesting in form from the fire wheel and so on. After manifesting, thoroughly examine the tip of the nose. This means to observe the gradual manifestation from the conventional right nostril and so on. How should one examine them? The "Jewel" and so on are taught. The three letters that are inseparable from entering, dwelling, and rising are the nature of the five Tathagatas, therefore they are jewels. Due to the differences in body color, they possess five rays of light, such as white, therefore they are the five colors. Because they nourish, they are called life itself. Spreading and contracting day and night in a spontaneously accomplished manner, they are also called diligence. This means to examine and meditate on such vajra recitation. That is, the upward-moving wind, with the nature of a hidden white cloth, dwells in the fire wheel and moves from the conventional right nostril, is the nature of Amitabha, the essence of red light. The action winds spread to the sense gates, and food and so on become the consciousness of the tongue.
