The Differentiation of the Self-Blessing Sequence. Aryadeva. The Differentiation of the Self-Blessing Sequence. Aryadeva. In Sanskrit: Svadhisthana-krama-prabhedam. In Tibetan: The Differentiation of the Self-Blessing Sequence. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! Homage to the body of wisdom, which utterly destroys all views. I shall explain this differentiation of self-blessing with love. However many thoughts there are that conceive of "existence," there are just as many views of permanence. Since there is attachment to permanence, this is not the characteristic of illusion. However many thoughts there are that conceive of "non-existence," there are just as many views of annihilation. Since there is attachment to annihilation, this is also not the characteristic of illusion. Whatever is thought of in the middle of "existence" and "non-existence," since there is attachment to the middle, this is also not the characteristic of illusion. The characteristic of the bodies of all the Buddhas, which are spoken of as conventional truth, is shown here as illusion; therefore, it is called self-blessing. The three worlds of cause and non-cause, by what are they all pervaded? They are not found by those of little merit; they are found only by prophecy. Here, pure conduct is not necessary; asceticism and hardship are not necessary; even without asceticism and discipline, it will be accomplished with joy and bliss. Whoever knows this, if he constantly remembers that, by all the magical transformations of illusion, he will accomplish Buddhahood. The yogi who abides in illusion is always protected in this by the gods. Through the samadhi that is like illusion, he will then become all-knowing. Great Vajra and great power, youth, freedom from illness, the supreme of bliss, having attained the magical powers of a Buddha, arising from birth is self-satisfied. Merely by seeing, without being urged, sentient beings will come under his power. Through the samadhi that is like illusion, all desired aims will be attained. All phenomena are like dreams and illusions; all Buddhas speak thus, but by looking outward from self-blessing, one cannot see the truth. The mind's own nature is in the form of a bow, perfectly endowed with the winds of consciousness. Since one is deluded by the example of illusion, one does not see one's own wisdom. In countless billions of eons, the far shore of hearing...

Even if actions are unrestrained, Without the Guru's instructions, Blessings will not be obtained. Therefore, abandoning all pride, Those who desire the fruit of Buddhahood, Those who ride the Vajrayana, Should strive to please the Guru. The stages that are very difficult to attain, Will be explained well here. Whoever knows and practices them, That yogi will truly become a Buddha. The nature of the four elements, earth and so on, Likewise, there are also four emptinesses. The nature of the eight places, Should be known as the cause of arising and ceasing. Within the clear light is the great emptiness, Within it, the means truly arise. What arises from it is wisdom, From it, wind will also arise. From wind, fire truly arises, From fire, water will also arise. What arises from water is earth, Within them, sentient beings arise. Earth dissolves into water, Water dissolves into fire. Fire enters the subtle realm, Wind also dissolves into mind. Mind transforms from what arises from mind, Mind-arising enters into ignorance, It also goes into the clear light, The three realms will also cease. Within the samadhi that is like an illusion, Until one does not see one's own nature, At that time, with the beginning, One will enter the wheel of existence. Self-awareness is like an illusion, Not the object of conceptual thought, Although it dwells within one's own body, It cannot be found due to meager merit. The unchanging nature of one's own body, Is known by the one supreme, It is shown through examples, By the kindness of the Guru's face. Earth and likewise water and so on, Like treasures and jewels hidden, Likewise, omniscience in the body, Cannot be seen by those with ignorance. Illusion, mirage, gandharva's city, And Indra's rainbow, Reflection in a mirror and in water, Moon's reflection and echo, Dream, cataract, cloud and lightning, What is called a water bubble, Twelve examples of illusion, Shown in many ways. With this, the very clear form, Focus on the form that is seen. By showing the three illusions, It is diligently and repeatedly proclaimed. Reflection in a mirror and a rainbow, And those others, The third, like the moon's reflection in water, Should meditate on that body. Whatever is condensed from conduct,
