Chapter Twenty. Extensive Explanation of Answering Questions on the Objects of Differentiation of Joy and So Forth. Chapter Twenty. Extensive Explanation of Answering Questions on the Objects of Differentiation of Joy and So Forth. Thus, after Chapter Nineteen has shown the answers to questions on the momentary objects of various kinds, now, in order to state the answers to questions on the objects of differentiation of joy and so forth, Chapter Twenty is shown. First, in order to briefly indicate its composer, "Then" and so forth are spoken, that is, after the explanation of Chapter Nineteen. It is related to the explanation of the characteristics of the four joys. The four joys are those with the characteristics that will be explained. A characteristic is what causes one's own nature to enter. How is it? Therefore, it is said "arising in order," that is, by means of the dependence on the four wheels, those that are in accordance with the order and those that are contrary to the order. "As it is" means with an undeviating nature. "In due order" means as the order is. Thus, having shown its composition, in order to actually explain its limbs, relying on the downward movement, in order to show the differentiation of joy and so forth, it is said, "Joy and bliss are the first." It is said that the nature of slight bliss is the essence of joy. "Supreme joy is the second," which is because of the nature that is superior to the former. "Absence of joy is called the third," which is because of the nature of being free from attachment. "The fourth is explained as co-emergent," which is because of abandoning the three kinds of joy, and because of its unartificial nature. As it is said: "In the Hevajra Tantra: Slight bliss is joy, supreme joy is greater than that, absence of joy is freedom from attachment, the fourth is separate from these." Thus, having explained the summary, in order to explain the differentiation of joy and so forth in the reverse order, it is said, "The emanation wheel is joy." It is said that it should be expressed by the word joy, because it has become the basis of bodhicitta, because there is the letter A in its center, and because it carries the bodhicitta by moving upwards. Supreme Joy Dharma

It abides in the wheel. This is because it possesses the essence of the supreme seed of the Tathagata and the goddess, and because it moves as before, it carries the mind of enlightenment. Enjoyment is devoid of joy. This is because by enjoying the six tastes, there is joy and joylessness in that realm, and as before, one obtains the mind of enlightenment. Co-emergent and great bliss. This is the co-emergent essence of the great bliss wheel, because it has the indestructible form of the letter Ha (ཧ,ha), and because one's self is blended with the mind of enlightenment, one experiences special bliss. It is called the reverse order. This is because the previously mentioned order has the characteristic of reversing from the forward direction, and is not the nature of the order. Thus, after showing the distinctions of joy, etc., in the order of reversing from the forward direction, in order to show the order arising from the forward direction, it is the nature of the branch of that distinction. After that, the forward direction should be explained, as it is said, it is the nature of the order. The great bliss wheel is on the crown of the head. This refers to the ultimate end of the thirty-two-petaled wind wheel. That is said to be joy. This is because the fire of wisdom melts the realm of the mind of enlightenment with the power of burning, and flows out from it. That is, this refers to what follows. Enjoyment, this refers to the enjoyment wheel, at the ultimate end of the sixteen-petaled fire wheel, is the supreme joy. At the ultimate end of the place above the throat, the mind of enlightenment slightly pervades all the limbs. Devoid of joy, it abides in the Dharma wheel. This is because the essence of the eight channels is the Dharma wheel, because it is obtained with the mind of enlightenment, therefore, in attachment and detachment, etc., it is known there. Here, the state of joylessness of ordinary people and yogis should be understood from the instructions of the guru. In the manifestation wheel, co-emergent. This refers to obtaining from the manifestation wheel to the secret wheel, so the state of co-emergent joy should be realized. There, by the power of the guru's instructions,
