Chapter Eight: Explanation of the Generation of the Glorious Blood-Drinker Chapter Eight: Explanation of the Generation of the Glorious Blood-Drinker ༄། ། Now, in order to generate or understand the wrathful blood-drinker, Mamaki requests the Bhagavan. Starting from "Then the viewing mother is also fivefold." Here, "also fivefold" means arising from the union of skillful means and wisdom. Among them, "The holy wondrous self-generation," etc., is the nature of peace. Great Peaceful Bhagavan, from which tantra does the form of the wrathful blood-drinker arise? In response to the request, it is said: Why do the gods, along with those who have power, etc., dominated by hatred and violence, as well as plagues, epidemic poisons, corpses, etc., come to me for refuge in the great bliss? Because of compassion for them, I transform into the wrathful Heruka, saving all beings. Otherwise, with a peaceful form, such as Vairochana, etc., it is not possible to subdue sentient beings who possess hatred and violence. To explain its meaning, it begins with "Then the Bhagavan Vajradhara." Among them, "Vajra and lotus are united," etc., says this: First, uniting with Mamaki, then, "A blazing garland, agitated and fierce." The terrifying Bhagavan, with the nature of the eight liberations inseparable from the eight vidyas, has eight hands, and with the nature of the four liberations skillful in means, has four faces, generating the form of the glorious blood-drinker. The Vajra Blood-Drinker, also in the posture of a lion, holds a vajra khatvanga in his left hand and carries a head, while his right hand holds a burning vajra, making the three-arrow mudra. For example: The vajra fist is outward, the middle finger is joined to the ring finger, the two palms are joined, and the rest are extended as the three-arrow mudra. Also, the two hands hold a skull cup filled with blood and a churning garland of intestines. Also, the two hands make the empowerment mudra binding on the head. For example: The hand is extremely stretched out, the two index fingers are knotted, and the tips of the middle finger and thumb touch.

The vajra mudra is completely transformed. After being completely transformed, it is raised and well placed in the wrathful wrinkles. That's it. Also, with two mudras, the mudra of entering the charnel ground is bound. That has already been said before. Meditate that such a blood drinker resides on a lotus. Furthermore, "Eight vidyas completely surround" means that on the eight petals of the lotus, the goddesses such as the terrifying goddess make the Bhagavan happy in order, and should be practiced or written. The great blood drinker and others are easy to understand. If you ask what the eight vidyas are, it is said, first the vidya terrifying goddess, etc., which means that after transforming into the form of a beautiful woman, etc., they become wrathful women such as the terrifying goddess. The first two hands hold khatvanga and banner. The body color and other hand symbols are in accordance with the mandala of Vajrasattva. The gatekeepers are oxhide, etc. The offerings are the same as before. The yogi who meditates on the blood drinker in this way recites mantras and praises and offers with songs and dances. It is said, "These mantras are," etc. In this regard, "The mantras are to recite these" means that after meditating on Heruka and his retinue, without being distracted from meditation, one should recite the mantras that appear below. That is the meaning. It is also said, "Also perform songs and dances and chant," which means that one makes offerings by chanting the songs and dances of the offering mudra and the tunes that appear below. The words of the tune are spoken, "Great Terror," etc. In this regard, Great Terror refers to Vajra Amrita, because its nature is such, it is called Terror. Amrita fills all sentient beings by its nature and is enjoyed at all times. It has also been said: It fills at all times, it enjoys at all times, it abides in all things, therefore it is said to be Great Terror. Another explanation is that because it makes hatred, violence, demons, etc. that harm sentient beings afraid, it is called Great Terror. Grinning teeth means, because of the nature of hatred and the Vajra family, or surpassing the gods of the world,
