Chapter Three: Explaining the Ritual of Empowerment with Offerings. Chapter Three: Explaining the Ritual of Empowerment with Offerings. After explaining the arrangement and empowerment of the mandala, Chapter Three is spoken to enable the disciples receiving empowerment to offer gifts to the teacher. Then it is said, "The practitioner, with all things, should first please the teacher." The term "first" means that before creating the mandala, it should be adorned with a net of pearls, anklets, armlets, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, and pleased with offerings of various foods. If there is a lack of abundant offerings, can the mandala, empowerment, and offerings be omitted? Regarding "The practitioner, with all things," it should be understood as doing as much as one can, not exceeding one's ability. No matter how one offers to the teacher, because it pleases the teacher with faith, it will become a great offering. Then, is the offering made to the one who creates the mandala, or to the teacher? It is said, "The Lama," etc., the meaning of which is: whoever is the teacher is the Lama. To understand that activity, they are the teachers. It should be understood that the teachers and disciples create the mandala, etc., and not those who are not teachers and disciples. Next is "Relying on it, discard the handful of flowers," etc. Regarding "Where the flowers fall in the mandala," etc., if one wants to know in detail all the appearances and entrances, etc., in the mandala, one should follow the great ritual of the mandala and receive it well. For the disciples who initially engage in practice and enter the mandala, from giving the tooth-stick to scattering flowers, one should understand that they are qualified, and the intention of the vow-bell sound has already been explained above. Now, in order to explain the secret empowerment, it is said, "With great red, recite three times," etc. The term "great red" refers to feces, etc. Recite three times "Om(藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah(藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), Hum(藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)," and "Ha(藏文:ཧ,梵文天城体:ह,梵文罗马拟音:ha,汉语字面意思:哈), Hoh(藏文:ཧོཿ,梵文天城体:होः,梵文罗马拟音:hoḥ,汉语字面意思:霍), Hrih(藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:赫利)," etc. The bindu is the special feature of the mouth's aperture.

The Vajra Master also shows the giving of vows with verses such as, "This is your hell water." In secret, there are other explanations as well. Blood is called a lotus. The blazing of body, speech, and mind is recited three times. The essence of that bindu, wherever it exists, is the bindu, which is the time of spring. The meaning of "do it" is that the lotus should hold the bindu on the face of the sky-flying one. If reciting red arsenic three times, just as it sounds, shows reciting blood three times, why then is it explained differently as lotus and feces? To refute such an argument, in order to realize the definitive meaning, other sources are shown, namely, blood is said to be a lotus, likewise red arsenic, veda, and so on. Even if blood is both lotus and feces, how does it transform into the nature of body, speech, and mind? To show other sources as well: "The Blessed One, Buddha Bhaga (Sanskrit, Bhaga, bhaga, Blessed One), dwells in the birth place of the consort. Here are the three vows, those are the Thus-Gone Ones." And so on. The vow water is to be drunk. From then on, you are the Vajra Holder. Do all of this, and keep all the instructions firm. And so on, the student who has learned the vows should be introduced. Then, as said by the hand drum, visualizing the lord of the mandala, with the mantra Pratīccha vajra ho (Tibetan transliteration, Sanskrit Devanagari, Pratīccha vajra ho, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Pratīccha vajra ho, Accept Vajra Ho), the student is made to scatter flowers. After scattering flowers, what should be done to the student? Then, the face is uncovered and the mandala is shown. As it is said, "Oṃ Vajrasattva (Tibetan transliteration, Sanskrit Devanagari, oṃ vajrasattva, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, oṃ vajrasattva, Om Vajrasattva) himself is in the manner of opening the eyes. The vajra eye is supreme. He opens it with the all-seeing eyes." And so on. To the student whose eyes have been opened, one should say this: "Son, with the power of faith, look at the mandala together. Blessed by mantra and mudra, today you are born into the Buddha family." And so on, the mandala should be shown as it is. After opening the eyes, one should prostrate and bow at the feet, and circumambulate the mandala from the left side. After that, what should the faithful student do?
