Then, this is composed for the benefit and subjugation of yogis during the mandala of Glorious Hevajra, fire offerings, ritual offerings, and times of practice. So, what is the necessity of torma? It says in the scripture: To pacify all obstacles, To delight all the deities, To fulfill broken vows, The work of torma should be done as much as possible. Also, it says in the tantra: With these tormas to all beings, If the yogi makes offerings well, Then at all times, attainment becomes happiness, And the deities rejoice and beings become prosperous. If one torma is given to the assembly of beings, It bestows power and manifest conduct, destroys the host of enemies, And causes expulsion, killing, and muteness, And it is that which pacifies, brings happiness, and increases. Also, some teachers say: For all who desire the supreme attainments of the world and beyond, The glorious, perfect Buddha, Highly praised the work of torma. Therefore, the work of torma is of great benefit. The powder of earth, seven kinds of grains, mixed blood and flesh, fish meat, etc., cooked and raw, old and new included. Likewise, after mixing with the five nectars, fill the container with all of these, and place it on top of a water-filled vase. Burn the rotten or inferior food on a lamp. Offer those also during the night. As it is said, on top of those, the peaceful Torma is a mixture of yogurt, brown sugar, rice porridge, etc. For the wrathful, place the image of the one to be accomplished on top. Therefore, sons of the lineage, those who wish for long life, wish for few illnesses, wish for the pacification of harm, wish for the increase of wealth and fame, wish to be free from debts and karmic debts, wish to avert untimely death, wish for the increase of enjoyment and wealth, wish to subdue external adversaries, and wish to attain worldly and transcendental accomplishments, the wise should diligently engage in the activity of Torma. For this, meditate clearly on oneself as the body of Mahamudra, and first in the space-like realm, from Yaṃ (यं, yam, wind) arises the wind mandala marked with Yaṃ (यं, yam, wind). From Raṃ (रं, ram, fire) arises the fire mandala marked with Raṃ (रं, ram, fire). From that arises A (ཨ), and from A (ཨ) in the skull cup, generate five iron hooks and five seed syllables, which transform into the five nectars.
