The Method of Accomplishing the Sixteen-Armed One-Hero Shri Heruka The Method of Accomplishing the Sixteen-Armed One-Hero Shri Heruka In Sanskrit: Ekapiraśrīherukaṣoḍaśabhujasādhanāṃ nāma. In Tibetan: The Method of Accomplishing the Sixteen-Armed One-Hero Shri Heruka. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! First, one should enter a suitable place with the common and special characteristics, free from obstacles and harm. The order of actions is to arrange the mandala and painted cloths, etc., and to prepare the offerings nearby. Having bathed beforehand, one should regard oneself as the deity and sit on a comfortable seat. Bless the five offerings with "Om Vajrapuṣpe Om Āḥ Hūṃ," etc., and other offerings also with "Om Āḥ Hūṃ." Then, in one's own heart, visualize a sun transformed from Raṃ, with Hūṃ on it. Its rays strike the house where one resides, and visualize it filled with vajras. By reciting "Om He Vajra Adhitiṣṭha Stata Nara Rakṣa Hūṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ Phaṭ Svāhā," one protects the place. Similarly, apply it to protecting oneself, one's life, and one's yoga, with "Om Ātma Jiva Yoga," etc. Then, from the seed-syllable in the heart, rays of light emanate, inviting the mandala of the accumulation of merit. Visualize it as clear as if it were directly perceived. Recite: "This flower of excellent divine substance, born from water and land, I offer with utmost reverence, please partake as you wish." Om Vajrapuṣpe Jamegha Samudra Spharaṇa Samaye Hūṃ. Having made common offerings such as these, again emanate eight goddesses from the seed-syllable in one's heart and make offerings to them. They are: Gaurīma holds a rabbit, Caurīma holds the sun. Rolamā holds flowing water, Ghasmārī holds strength. Incense Woman holds a sandalwood tree, Wild Woman holds honey. Fierce Woman beats a cymbal, Young Woman is connected to the neck. It is said that they act like men. Then confess: I have committed sins, and rejoiced in sins committed, in the presence of the fully enlightened Buddha, I confess them all individually without omission. Then rejoice: Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Noble Hearers

Hearing of the victories of others and the merits of individual ordinary beings, I rejoice in them. Then, dedicate the merit: May all these virtues of mine, for the sake of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, be fully matured and perfected in common with all sentient beings. Then, take refuge: The perfectly enlightened Buddha, the best of bipeds, the sacred Dharma spoken by him, and the Sangha of Bodhisattvas, I take refuge until enlightenment. Then, make the aspiration to generate the supreme mind of enlightenment: Having perfectly attained unsurpassed enlightenment, for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings, I will abide in non-abiding Nirvana. Then, enter into generating the supreme mind of enlightenment: My generosity and so forth, perfecting all the perfections, I shall truly practice the path of the unsurpassed Vajrayana. Then, visualizing that the light emanating from the previous Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum) draws all sentient beings, as clear as being connected with a spiritual friend. Meditate on the four immeasurables, the form of loving-kindness, wishing beings to be free from suffering, rejoicing in having attained happiness, and equanimity entering into non-conceptualization. Following that, by reciting these mantras, meditate on emptiness: Om Svabhava Vishuddha Sarva Dharma Svabhava Shuddho Ham. (ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་བི་ཤུདྡྷཿ་དྷརྨཱ་ཏེ་སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:ओंसवभावविशुद्धःसर्वधर्माःस्वभावविशुद्धोऽहं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ svabhāva viśuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva viśuddho 'haṃ,Literal meaning: Om, purity of nature, all dharmas, purity of nature, I.) By this, it is accomplished: All dharmas are pure, and I am also pure in nature. Abide in this: Om Shunyata Jnana Vajra Svabhava Atmako Ham. (ཨོཾ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:ॐशून्यताज्ञानवज्रस्वभावात्मकोऽहं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ śūnyatājñānavajrasvabhāvātmakoham,Literal meaning: Om, emptiness, wisdom, vajra, nature, I.) That is the nature of emptiness, wisdom, and vajra, I am. Then, in an instant, imagine oneself as a deity endowed with wisdom. In front of that deity, from the sky, on top of the sun transformed from the syllable "Re" (རེ), from the Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum) syllable, visualize various vajras endowed with the five wisdoms. From the center of the vajra, light radiates from the Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum) syllable, burning away obstacles, and visualize the protective wheel and the tent. Above that, on a lotus and sun, one's own mind is the form of wisdom, from the very nature of the Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum) syllable, completely transformed, in the center of the five-pronged vajra is the letter Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum). Or, the light from that Hum (ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Literal meaning: Hum) purifies the sentient beings of the three realms, and then the light is withdrawn. After that, from the completely transformed vajra, arises glorious Heruka, as bright as the moon and crystal, with eight faces, two arms, four legs, and eyes.
