Having the power to burn the wood of afflictions, and being the light of the dharmas of the aspect of enlightenment, this is called Luminous. The bodhisattva abiding therein should meditate on the four noble truths, and should abide in that ground just mentioned until the mind does not turn back from samsara, and until the dharmas of the aspect of enlightenment are not meditated on with means. When he is able to do that, he should enter the fifth ground. The bodhisattva abiding therein, meditating on the dharmas of the aspect of enlightenment with means, should not abandon it even if it becomes very painful, and because all the maras cannot conquer, the fifth ground is called Difficult to Conquer. The bodhisattva abiding therein, because he constantly abides in meditation, the perfection of meditation will increase. After the bodhisattva has abandoned bad habits, he should abide in that ground until he has not found the cause of good habits. When he has found it, he should enter the sixth ground, Manifest. The bodhisattva abiding therein, because he constantly meditates on arising from the collection of causes and conditions, the perfection of wisdom will increase. Because all the dharmas of all the Tathagatas are manifested, the sixth ground is called Manifest. He should abide in that ground until he knows the cause of all dharmas. When he knows it, he should enter the seventh ground, Gone Afar. The bodhisattva abiding therein, because he knows all causes and does not abandon them, the perfection of means will increase. Because he has entered the path of means and gone afar, the seventh ground is called Gone Afar. How long should he abide there? He should abide there until he has not obtained the benefit of sentient beings without cause. When he has obtained it, he should enter the eighth ground, Immovable. The bodhisattva abiding therein, because he obtains all the accumulations of merit without effort, and in order to accomplish the meaning of all sentient beings without affliction, the perfection of aspiration will increase. Without cause and without effort, and without trembling. Because these are absent, the eighth ground is called Immovable. The bodhisattva abiding therein, the Tathagata

Until one is unable to teach the Dharma in common languages and dialects, and unable to separately demonstrate, one should abide in the place just mentioned. Once one is able to teach, one should enter the ninth ground, Good Intelligence. A Bodhisattva abiding in this ground, because of the great power of wisdom, the Perfection of Wisdom increases. Because one is able to teach the Dharma through all paths, without obstacles, and is able to obtain excellence, the ninth ground is called Good Intelligence. A Bodhisattva abiding in this ground, until one is unable to emanate in many Buddha-fields, unable to emanate many retinues, unable to emanate countless emanations, and unable to ripen the accumulations of merit of sentient beings, one should abide there. Once one is able to do so, one should enter the tenth ground, Cloud of Dharma. A Bodhisattva abiding in this ground, because one is able to emanate, able to ripen sentient beings, and able to universally bestow wisdom upon sentient beings, the Perfection of Wisdom increases. Because from the cloud of teaching the Dharma, the rain of Dharma falls upon immeasurable realms of sentient beings, the tenth ground is called Cloud of Dharma. A Bodhisattva abiding in this ground, until one has not become unimpeded in obtaining dharanis, and until one's wisdom cannot be obscured by others, one should abide in that ground. Once one is unable to do so, one should enter the eleventh ground, the Buddha-ground, Samantabhadra. The qualities of just one aspect of that ground, even the Tathagata is unable to describe, what need is there to mention the remaining qualities? That ground is called the place of assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. It is said that it is eternally abiding. The so-called Lord of the Ten Grounds is Vajrasattva. The so-called Protector is the form of Heruka. The so-called Not Other is that which has not been taught by external Jalandhara and others. The sun of the assembly of Yoginis should be shown, therefore, it is said, "In the direction of the hungry ghosts." That is the meaning of the full moon. Or it is called the secret place. Why is it called the secret place? Because the Shravakas and others

Because it is not the place of use. Fourteen is called the Tathagata ground. Eight is called the eighth ground, the immovable ground. Now, the method of eating of that assembly should be shown: Banner is called the field hanging on the tree. Striking with weapons is called killing after striking with swords and so on. Seven rebirths is called being reborn as a human being for seven lifetimes, and that person dying by himself is called seven rebirths. With effort, generating compassion, etc., towards harming the Three Jewels, etc., and violating vows. For this, generate great compassion and transfer the consciousness to the Pure Land of Bliss, or any other good place. After killing with the order of intercourse, opening the mouth, etc., eat with the order of roasting and warming its flesh, etc. To whichever beings, regarding the previously mentioned transferring sentient beings to the Pure Land of Bliss, that sentient being, after hearing the Dharma, will say that so-and-so bestowed kindness. That becomes the freedom of the yogi. That word shows that meaning. Furthermore, it also shows the three things that a yogi should eat: killed by others, dying by oneself, and killing oneself with a good heart. The commentary on the seventh chapter of the Hevajra Tantra, made by Padmakara Vajra, is completed. Seventh Chapter, Explanation of the Chapter on Establishing Terms and Places.
