Seventh, explanation of the chapter on determining mudras and places. Seventh, explanation of the chapter on determining mudras and places. "Symbol" is said to be the language of the Chandalas. Or it is to be examined. What is called "mudra" is what is initially used to indicate a symbol, that is called a mudra. What is called "reply mudra" is what is later used to indicate a symbol, that is called the reply mudra. That word shows this meaning: any yogi whose mind becomes stable in samadhi becomes stable due to the power of habituation with meritorious deeds. That yogi will meet Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and will teach the Dharma, and also show symbols. With what form do they show them? With the form of yoginis, etc. Or, the hand of the garland is shown. The phrase "the hand of the garland is shown" shows the manifest meeting of the yogi father and the yogini mother. The word "after completely releasing the garland" shows the symbol. What is called "outside" is not the realm of action without vows. What is called "gathering" is the gathering of yoginis. What do the gathered yoginis do? Wherever the yogi has meritorious deeds, (the yoginis) will throw a garland of flowers at him. Then, summoning the yogi, they repeatedly say, "Please abide in our vows." That yogi also repeats like this: "However the yoginis say, I must do all those things." He repeats like this. For the yogi who likes external places, twelve things such as cushions are shown. With what words are the twelve shown? They are shown with "cushion and nearby cushion," etc. The main part of the places of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will be explained. These are the twelve bhumis, what is called "these are the twelve bhumis" is the bhumi of practice with the intention of "may all sentient beings become Buddhas," and the first bhumi, the Extremely Joyful, the second bhumi, the Stainless, the third bhumi, the Luminous, the fourth bhumi, the Radiant, the fifth bhumi, the Very Difficult to Train, the sixth bhumi, the Manifest.

, the seventh bhumi, Long Gone; the eighth bhumi, the Immovable; the ninth bhumi, Good Intelligence; the tenth bhumi, Cloud of Dharma; the eleventh, Samantabhadra's bhumi; and the twelfth. Generating samadhi, practicing dharani, knowing the Dharma, knowing the meaning, knowing the language of Prakriti, and knowing what others ask without having to think. To practice these, one should act with the intention of "may all sentient beings attain Buddhahood," which is called the Practice Bhumi. Previously not knowing Suchness, but later knowing Suchness and rejoicing, therefore the first bhumi is called the Extremely Joyful. In this bhumi, just as one works for oneself, one also works for others. The perfection of generosity will also increase. In this bhumi, after the bodhisattva has understood Suchness, he cannot tolerate even the slightest thought of evil, so he should abide there. After being able to tolerate it, one can enter the stainless state. After entering this state, one will be free from all the faults of sentient beings. The perfection of morality will also increase. Because it is free from the defilement of non-morality, the second bhumi is called the Stainless. A bodhisattva who dwells on this bhumi should abide there as long as he has not attained worldly samadhi and is unable to grasp the meaning after hearing it. After entering this bhumi, one can accomplish benefits and endure suffering. Therefore, the perfection of patience will increase. By the power of samadhi, the immeasurable realms of the world are illuminated by light, so the third bhumi is called the Illuminating. A bodhisattva who dwells on this bhumi, even after attaining worldly samadhi, should abide in the bhumi just mentioned until he is unable to teach the Dharma of the aspects of enlightenment to his retinue and until he is unable to abandon all miserliness. When he is able to do so, he enters the fourth bhumi, the Blazing. A bodhisattva who dwells on this bhumi should not abandon the Dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment in order to constantly abandon the mental discriminations. Therefore, the perfection of diligence will increase. The bodhisattva who dwells on this bhumi,
