Therefore, I take refuge in the essence of all Dharmas—Mahamudra (Chagya Chenpo). Even if one is proficient in various nominalistic academics, has extensive knowledge and a strong memory, and is versed in the Dharma, Without the Guru's oral instructions that clearly reveal the nature of the glorious goddess (Palmo Gema) and the peaceful mother (Zima), One will always remain ignorant of you. I have learned from your teachings that those are merely meaningless and futile endeavors. The countless streams of conceptual thoughts, repeatedly practiced, Meditations that lack insight (Lhaktong) and regard mere calm abiding (Zhi-ne) as supreme, And inferior Mudra practices bound by attachment, Will lead far away from your path, as you yourself have taught. Therefore, now I will completely abandon all that contradicts and opposes your path, Day and night, I will diligently practice the pure and supreme path, And arising from it, for the benefit of all beings, May I proclaim such praises like dreams, illusions, echoes, and reflections! This was written by Gyal Khampa in the auspicious sacred place of Jonang, after realizing emptiness and Mahamudra (Tongnyid Chagya Chenpo) and generating faith.
