Egham! Lurking before the Lama, holding it in the mind. That which steals radiance and power. Especially the great demon, the deceitful lord. Moving the dice, throwing the lasso. Consuming the fire and wind of karma separately. To all of those, this ransom, more pleasing than a human. The qualities of power, limbs, and virtues are complete, with twelve hundred parts equally perfect. Complete with all desirable qualities. Possessing splendor greater than the sons of gods. Its color shines brighter than Indra's bow. Its light is clearer than the sun and moon. Its branches are more abundant than trees. It fulfills hopes more than jewels. Its sound is more pleasant than the songs of Gandharvas. Its scent is sweeter than clouds of incense. It possesses the soft and smooth garment of pañca. Its magical powers are vast, transforming as desired. It possesses discriminating wisdom, qualities, and direct knowledge. Its hand is generous with the offering of the nine excellent foods. Immediately, many arise. Such is the magical power of samadhi. The power of the aspirations of the Thus-Gone-Ones. It is the self-nature of yogic wisdom. Possessing the blessings of the mind of enlightenment. Whatever is connected is a vine of virtue. Whatever is dedicated removes all obstacles. Whatever is obtained always increases. Whatever is experienced is satisfied with stainless bliss. This I offer to you as a treasure. There is no movement of a hundred impure bodies. To devour the life of the non-virtuous, what use is endless karmic debt? Knowing that you cannot use it. Destroying by boasting of increase. If killed, short life, karmic debt of life. You yourself suffer the misery of karma. Besides removing it, it is the cause of transgression. Without mistaking the certainty of choice, listen to this truthful word. Do not break the command of me, the mantra holder. Take it, take it, all you powerful ones. Craving, attachment, and infatuation. Memory, grasping, thought, and touch. Release, pacify, and liberate. Perform Dharma giving, etc. Throw the ransom offering towards the enemy of the year. Do not look back, return to your own place. Meditate on the wheel of protection, dispelling obstacles. By this, death is surely deceived. Thus spoke the old Nyingma mantra practitioner, holding the possibility of birth in the lineage's sprout. Spoken at the urging of Wangchuk Dorje, by the name Gaga Abhyi. Sarva Mangalam! May there be all auspiciousness! ༈ Dedicate this to any burnt offering or water offering: Om Ah Hum! Visualize yourself as Avalokiteshvara. (Or, if making a burnt offering, the touch of light from your heart, the dust of the ocean of desirable qualities of the burnt offering, white, red, sweet, etc.)

From the fingertips of the mudra, descends a stream of nectar-milk, the rising mist transforms into clouds of offering, white, red, and sweet three tastes, six flavors of food, in the form of a goddess of desirable qualities, it transforms into the actual, uncontaminated wisdom nectar, dissolving into the light of the three syllables, becoming a superior stream that purifies defilements, transforming into a treasure of the space treasury. The light from the heart invites the assembly of the four guests in an instant, may the root guru and others, be pleased by the offering to the Three Jewels. With Jambhala (藏文:ཛཾ་བྷ་ལ་,梵文天城体:जम्भल,梵文罗马拟音:Jambhala,汉语字面意思:Wealth giver) residing at the head, fulfill the intentions of those with vows, protect wealth, life, and share, all kinds of karmic debts and obstructing forces, and the six realms of beings, primarily the pretas, may all be satisfied. Those who are powerless to come, possessing obscurations, fulfill the intentions of the remaining guests, with the complete satisfaction of each, thereby completing the accumulation of merit and purifying all obscurations, may I and all sentient beings, attain the state of omniscient Buddhahood, repaying karmic debts, blood feuds, and obligations, may we be free from all suffering and possess happiness! Dedicate with the appropriate methods such as the accumulation of merit and water offering mantras. Ultimately, the three circles and the dharma of things, are spread out in the equality of non-objectification. This was written by Gaga at the urging of Longchen Yangpa. A concise compilation of the meaning of Chöd from the new and old treasures: The sword that cuts through self-grasping.
