A Prayer to the Guru: Remembering His Qualities A Prayer to the Guru: Remembering His Qualities ༄༅༔ Herein lies the Prayer to the Guru: Remembering His Qualities. ༄༅༔ EMAHO! You are the sovereign of all, the protector of the three times, together with your children; You hold the vidyā of the vajra, having accomplished the conduct of a renunciate; You are the protector of beings, cared for by Orgyen Pema; I pray to the feet of Namkha Jigme! Your conduct is equanimous towards the eight worldly concerns; You have abandoned actions that are pleasing to others; Such an outer display is immeasurable and unfathomable; I pray to the feet of Namkha Jigme! The precious teachings that are especially unique; Without faulting them by always applying clinging to what is supreme; From the practice of mudrā, like the peacock’s sustenance; I pray to you, who has perfectly attained accomplishment! The actual teachings that manifestly reveal self-liberation; Their reflection is the eight levels of vehicles; With the three wisdoms, you gather the essential meaning into one; I pray to you, who arranges the instructions in order! Individually, you have realized the meaning of perfect awareness; Although you have completely perfected the three powers of the great lion of view; You relied on many gurus, seeking the common meaning; I pray to the supreme lord of the wise! You have received the prophecies of the ḍākinīs and the accomplishment of the yidam deity; Through the anujñā of the kind guru; The obstacles to teaching and writing are pacified into space; I pray to you, who has attained freedom in your activities! Through the manifest experience of seeing your own face as it is; Your mind does not stray from the state of uncontaminated wisdom; Yet, for the sake of those who cannot appear as a cause for estimation; I pray to you, who bestows the secret treasury of instructions! The activities of the body, speech, and mind of the five self-arisen wisdoms; Are free from abandoning and adopting the means of pacifying and increasing; The adornment of ripening empowerment and forceful wisdom born of skillful means; I pray to you, who acts as a teacher of conduct! Although there are many manifestations of your virtuous deeds; One speaks of that very nature as if looking directly at the manifest; For those sentient beings whose minds are narrow and unclear; I pray to you, who shows immeasurable taming! Urged on by the compassion of the buddhas of the ten directions; With mindfulness, the heroes arise in the place of abiding; And with the welcoming of the songs, dances, and music of the ḍākinīs; I pray to you, who manifestly serves! In the remembrance of Yumkhar, the five manifest enlightenments are complete; The ultimate meaning of the inseparability of deity, mantra, and dharmatā; With the soaring vajra speech of the six syllables; I pray to you, who makes the great lineage clear!

祈祷！降生之时，附近有风幡飘扬， 四面八方一由旬内，香气弥漫，华盖遮蔽。 满月之时，即被圣者摄受， 向无有胎垢者祈祷！ 三岁之时，便开启方便智慧之法藏宝箱， 未经学习阿 আলি（藏文ཨ་ལི།），嘎迦迦利 कालि（藏文ཀཱ་ལི།），自生而知。 令一切众生之灵魂，皆依附于彼， 向通晓隐秘之智眼者祈祷！ 从成就殊胜苦行之自在力中， 于良友语自在事业之前， 杀死小鸟，至隔夜之后， 复活，向神变炽燃者祈祷！ 慈父当巴·桑结断魔金刚， 于贤劫千尊转法轮之中， 从带顶之城堡顶端，展现飞行之神力， 向生起真正见地者祈祷！ 最初，欣然接受平等味之行， 为令他人心生信任，施予鼓励， 于坚硬之铁，以及长长的香木之上， 向解开金刚结者祈祷！ 从阻碍他人死亡迁转的险境中， 心想将美妙言语，化为时节之宴席， 以言语敬献吉祥，以鲜花供养， 向示现十力之证相者祈祷！ 于无有阶梯之城堡顶端， 以神变迅疾天神之苦行， 如是对众多有情，显现亲身之相， 向自然生起先前征兆者祈祷！ 尤其以卑贱之行为， 随顺众生之行，以伪装作为眼饰， 不加修饰，以其大悲心怀，摄受他人， 向具善巧方便之光芒者祈祷！ 于极高平缓之金刚岩石之上， 依靠他人，与月亮一同，迅速攀登， 因大地伏藏之福德，成熟之时， 向莲师之伟大持教者祈祷！ 尤其以智慧舍弃之尸体， 被恶念鬼神所缠，于某些地方， 临近毁灭之际，以三摩地， 以威力能力，降伏彼等，向您祈祷！ 于玛央（藏文རྨ་གཡང་，地名）财神之近旁， 从深邃广阔之海中， 与友伴一同，依靠他人，以大神变力， 不被淹没，安乐而行，向您祈祷！ 为阻止学经堪布仁增多吉（藏文རིག་འཛིན་རྡོ་རྗེ།）的孩童行径， 即便将王宫的， 门和狮子星严密封锁， 亦能穿透无碍，示现自在。

At the full moon, he was taken in by the holy ones, I pray to the one without the stain of the womb! From the age of three, he unlocked the treasure chest of skillful means and wisdom, Without learning the Ali (藏文ཨ་ལི།), Kali कालि (Sanskrit, Devanagari, 藏文ཀཱ་ལི།), he knew them on his own. Causing the life force of all beings to attach to him, I pray to the all-seeing eye that penetrates hidden secrets! From the power of accomplishing supreme asceticism, Before the noble friend Ngawang Trinley, He killed a bird, and then at the end of the night, Revived it, I pray to the one blazing with wonder! The venerable father Dudjom Dorje, In the midst of turning the wheel of Dharma for a thousand fortunate ones, From the top of a castle with a roof, he displayed the power of flight, I pray to the one who generates the correct view! Initially, he gladly accepted the practice of equal taste, In order to inspire faith and give encouragement to others, On hard iron and long incense sticks, I pray to the one who unties the vajra knot! From the perils of hindering the transference of others' deaths, Thinking to transform beautiful words into a seasonal feast, Offering auspicious words and flowers, I pray to the one who demonstrates the signs of the ten powers! On top of a castle without stairs, With the asceticism of a swift and miraculous deva, He manifestly appeared to many beings, I pray to the one who spontaneously creates prior signs! Especially through humble conduct, Conforming to the ways of beings, using pretense as an eye ornament, Without adornment, with his great compassion, he seizes others, I pray to the one with skillful means and radiant light! On the face of a very high and smooth vajra rock, Relying on others, together with the moon, he quickly ascends, As the merit of the earth's treasures ripens in time, I pray to the great holder of the lotus lineage! Especially the corpse abandoned by consciousness, Entangled by evil-minded spirits, in some places, When nearing destruction, through samadhi, With might, power, and ability, he subdued them, I pray to you! Near the lord of the Ma Yang (藏文རྨ་གཡང་, place name) wealth, From the deep and vast ocean, Together with companions, relying on others, with great miraculous power, Without drowning, he proceeds in bliss, I pray to you! To prevent the childish behavior of the Khenpo Rigzin Dorje (藏文རིག་འཛིན་རྡོ་རྗེ།) who studies the scriptures, Even if the doors and lion stars of the palace are tightly sealed, He can penetrate without obstruction, displaying freedom.
