The Establishment of the Vow Mudra. The Establishment of the Vow Mudra. Third, the establishment of the vow mudra is: Samaya Vow). If one relies on such a vow, it is the concluding statement of truly accomplishing the main practice. The three seals are as before. This preliminary practice is elaborated because the precious Guru himself said it needed to be slightly expanded. Third, in the actual preliminary practice of the session, there are the main practice, benefits, and mudra. First, from "Then purify obscurations..." to "do," after the accomplishment of the special preliminary practice, from the beginning of meditation, in order to purify the two obscurations of affliction and knowledge in one's own mindstream, and in order for the blessings of the lineage to enter, one should diligently engage in Guru Yoga. In general, no matter what one's own Guru is like, meditating on him is said to be the supreme source of all siddhis. If one meditates like a deity, one will not be liberated without properly practicing the approach and accomplishment. Moreover, it is also thought that one should not meditate on an ordinary, inferior Guru. The Great Array Sutra says, "Compared to meditating on hundreds of thousands of deity forms, if one does not stray from focusing on the Guru's form, the rain of hundreds and thousands of merits will not fall." Therefore, it refutes (this view). If the Guru is an emanation who tames beings or a reincarnation emanation, it is not permissible to meditate on him, then meditating on most of the thousand Buddhas would also become impermissible. However, if one thinks that (the Guru) is different because he does not possess the marks and signs, then you would also say that one should not meditate on the Wheel-Turning King. Moreover, since the marks and signs are truly present only in the Sambhogakaya, you should not meditate on the Nirmanakaya. Since the Dharmakaya has no marks and signs, it is unavoidable to conclude that one should not meditate on it. However, in accordance with the general disposition of coarse minds, one practices like the secret practice of Padmasambhava, therefore one engages in approach, and in order to generate the realization of the main practice, and in order to establish the lineage of the state of attainment, one prays steadfastly, and with the three doors, one respectfully prostrates and circumambulates, and also offers the outer, inner, and secret mandalas. Furthermore, after meditating on Guru Yoga, one should offer with the seven pure offerings and receive the four empowerments. This also depends on how one relies on the Guru, one should not think of faults, but focus solely on the qualities and strive to generate devotion. Until devotion arises, one should think that I have received the Dharma and cannot slander, and think that I must pray to this Guru, rather than thinking that the Guru is just ordinary, and the qualities are just

It is not acceptable to not speak out if one thinks, "The faults are piling up like this." Furthermore, if one lacks faith, respect, and service towards a truly living Lama, and instead engages in superficial actions such as painting images and making offerings, it is meaningless, the Lama has said. Therefore, without meditating on the generation and completion stages, if one focuses solely on this (Guru Yoga), the foundation of actual practice will naturally arise in the continuum. Until the state of merging the Lama's mind with one's own mind, and fainting due to intense devotion, arises, one should practice these stages. The second necessity is from "Its blessings..." to "manifestation." By practicing Guru Puja in this way, the merit obtained is greater than meditating on the generation and completion stages for eons, and one can simultaneously attain the fruit of Buddhahood. As the Kun Dus Sutra says: Whoever, for millions of eons, Meditates on millions of deities, The merit of remembering the Lama Is supreme; this merit is limitless. It also says: Whoever, for twenty eons of the completion stage, Abandons all distractions and meditates, Does not equal the moment the Lama appears in one's heart. With the thought of meditating on and praising the Lama, One will definitely attain the fruit of Buddhahood simultaneously. It also says the benefits of prayer, as stated in the Damtsik Kodpa: Better than reciting and practicing millions of times, One prayer to the Lama is supreme. In this way, blessings enter one's own continuum, the obscurations of the three doors are purified, experiential realization increases, and the correct view, meditation, and conduct arise in the continuum without hindrance. Jetsun said: If a qualified Lama is prayed to by a respectful disciple, then practice will naturally progress. Regarding the entry of blessings into the continuum, Geshe Tonpa said: I have experience that praying to Atisha is more blessed than praying to the Yidam deity. (Third, examination) The mudra is Sa (Tibetan)... to Gya (Tibetan). Because it is the root of the practice vows, one must rely on it. It also says that the three mudras are as before. The second main section, explaining the Great Perfection of Ground, Path, and Fruit, generally measures the expanse of intention, explains the nature of reality in detail, and summarizes these. The first is, here, Trekchö is the Ground, Tögal is the Path, and it is taught for the sake of completion.
