Thus I have heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling on the supreme mountain of the jeweled peak with layered houses, the excellent place of the snowy mountains, like the waist and belly of Mount Meru, filled with gold stones and various jewels, burning with honeycombs, on a wide stone slab where various lights of jewels appeared like rainbows, spread with fragrant flowers and powders, the inside of the cave and the forest were filled with many fragrant incenses, on the supreme mountain adorned with umbrellas, agarwood, powders, bells, and banners. Then, the Blessed One was surrounded by a great assembly of gods, sons of gods, asuras, wind gods, sons of wind gods, garudas, nagas, yakshas, kinnaras, rakshasas, gandharvas, accomplished mantra holders, bhutas, heretics, flesh-eaters, and visible and invisible hosts of Matrikas, widely spread in a circle of five hundred yojanas. There were seventy-five thousand Bodhisattvas, and twenty-five thousand monks. The Blessed One taught the Dharma that is the bliss of dwelling, the bliss of listening, and the definite liberation from samsara. At that time, the gods, sons of gods, asuras, sons of asuras, wind gods, sons of wind gods, garudas, nagas, yakshas, kinnaras, rakshasas, sons of rakshasas, gandharvas, accomplished mantra holders, bhutas, heretics, flesh-eaters, visible and invisible hosts of Matrikas, hosts of bhutas, and bhutas.

The retinues wandered everywhere, emitting sounds of clamor, fear, and misery. They pleaded, "Bhagavan, we are being controlled, lured and driven by harm and deceit, and subjected to beatings. Bhagavan, please save us!" After they pleaded thus, the Bhagavan merely recollected, and there came a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, possessing the supreme wisdom, intellect, activity, and the ultimate end of activity, which reveals the vast mandala above all, having obtained another land from the great earth, approaching the heir apparent, and being invested with the kingship of Dharma. He had broad arms like a vajra club, a diadem as hard as a vajra, blazing with light, adorned with vajra armlets, a body that was hard and firm, holding a vajra, a rope, and burning, firm weapons in his hands, utterly destroying with a firm vajra stake, possessing great power and a retinue of four hundred and fifty thousand, illuminating this entire world, along with the youths of the vajra family, the vajra assembly, the vajra club, the vajra essence, the vajra crest, the vajra light, the blue vajra, the jewel vajra, the secret vajra, the wheel vajra, and so forth, as well as the great vajra generals, the army commanders, the land protectors, the vajra vidyadharas who truly understand what is real and unreal, the vajra mothers, and the vajra guides, together urging on the hordes of vajra youths, the vajra oppressors, and the makers of vajra nightmares. He thoroughly roused and illuminated all who had gathered in the great courtyard of the assembly, completely illuminating, clarifying, thoroughly clarifying, making them rejoice, truly urging, individually urging, and then went to where the Bhagavan was, wearing the upper robe.
