The Dharani called "Noble Sandalwood Branch". The Dharani called "Noble Sandalwood Branch". In Sanskrit: Arya Candana Anga Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Dharani called "Noble Sandalwood Branch". Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Bhagavan was in Rajagriha, together with a great Sangha of monks, a great Sangha of monks of twelve thousand five hundred monks, and many Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and also many special gods. Then, the Bhagavan was seated on a well-prepared seat, brilliantly and radiantly by the miraculous power of the Tathagata. Then, the Bhagavan said to the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara and the youth Chandraprabha in that assembly: "Son of good family, beyond this world, far beyond countless worlds like the sands of the Ganges, there is a Buddha-field called Sandalwood Splendor. There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha called Sandalwood Branch is still living, dwelling, and teaching the Dharma. All the beings in that world are non-retrogressing. Bhagavan, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Sandalwood Branch, for the benefit of all beings, has spoken the basis of the vidya-mantra of the Dharani called Sandalwood Branch. Having heard this, those who are non-retrogressing will be free from sins and will not be separated from the mind of Bodhi. Bhagavan, the Tathagata Amitayus, and the Tathagata Dipankara, and the Tathagata Vairochana, and other past Buddhas, the Bhagavatans, have also spoken it before. I will also tell you, for the sake of embracing all beings, listen well and keep it in mind. In the future age, in the last five hundred years of the degenerate age, when the true Dharma is completely destroyed, all will be without Dharma, committing the five heinous crimes.

Immediately upon hearing it, one will be completely liberated from sins. One will be blessed by all the Bodhisattvas. One will also see the body of the Tathagata. If one recites it for half a month, one will see the noble Avalokiteśvara and the youth Candraprabha. Even if one has committed the five heinous sins, they will be purified. One will remember one's past lives. After abandoning this life, one will also be born in the realm of the gods. One will be born into the home of a great and happy householder. All beings will be happy. Even if this entire great earth were to completely collapse, and the ocean were to dry up, similarly, the mountains
