As soon as the Bhagavan had spoken this Dharma discourse called "The Essence of the Buddha's Heart Dharani," the mountains and places, along with the six types of groves, shook. The earth of the three-thousand great-thousand world realm also shook, shook violently, and shook completely violently. The great ocean also churned, churned violently, and churned completely violently. Mount Meru, the king of mountains, also swayed and trembled. All the abodes of the Maras were frightened, and the gods of the Mara's retinue and the wicked Maras were extremely distressed, unhappy, and despondent. Any sentient beings who saw the great earth shaking would pay homage to the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha. They would specifically recite three times, "I pay homage to the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha." Any gods who had firm faith in the Buddha would scatter celestial Mandarava flowers and great Mandarava flowers upon the Bhagavan, scattering them completely. All those who took refuge in the Buddha experienced great joy. Therefore, it should be said thus: The Shakya Lion, perfectly enlightened, The Buddha protects in an instant, The essence of all the Buddhas, This Dharani is profoundly taught. In that instant, the earth shook in six ways, The ocean churned, and all the abodes of the Maras Shook violently, and the gods of the Mara's retinue Were greatly alarmed and disturbed. The Maras were unhappy, suffering, and grieving. At that time, the gods, hearing of this wondrous event, In order to make offerings to the protector of the world, Abiding in the sky, scattered Mandara flowers, Whoever

To other believers in the Buddha, exquisite necklaces and bracelets, various incenses, powders and unguents, clothes, ornaments and armlets, should be offered with utmost effort. These eight are the adornments that become the benefit of its merits. Which eight? Like this: the adornment of not forgetting the mind of enlightenment, the adornment of never being satisfied with completely seeking all that is heard, the adornment of completely ascertaining the profound Dharma, dependent arising, the adornment of knowing the superior and non-superior faculties of all sentient beings, the adornment of properly and individually contemplating and examining the Dharmas as heard and as understood, the adornment of not fixating on all Dharmas in order to fully ripen all sentient beings, and the adornment of skillful means through the blessings of the Buddha, the adornment of obtaining dharani. These eight are the adornments that become the benefit of its merits. This dharani should be constantly remembered. The recollection of the Buddha should be practiced. If these roots of dharani are remembered, then all karmic obscurations will be completely purified. One will also obtain the samadhi called Lotus Adornment. One should rub all diseases and sufferings with one's hand. One should also recite immeasurably many times. After the Bhagavan had spoken thus, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, great Shravakas, gods, humans, asuras and gandharvas, and the world with them, rejoiced and praised what the Bhagavan had said. The Dharma category of the Noble Buddha-Heart Dharani is complete. Translated and edited by the Indian Abbot Jinamitra, Danashila, and the reviser-translator Bande Yeshede, and revised and finalized with new terminology. The Dharma category of the Noble Buddha-Heart Dharani.
