Even if one practices profound vidyā-mantras, it is unlikely that blessings will necessarily arise. Those efforts become tiring and meaningless, and the vidyā-mantras are just like ordinary people's words. The samādhis are like the thoughts of children. If a faultless person practices the vidyā-mantras, they will quickly accomplish whatever is desired. For example, the seed of the nyagrodha tree, though extremely small, if well-watered and fertilized, will grow to the size of a yojana in seven months. If the transformation of external matter is like that, what need is there to mention the accomplishment of wisdom through wisdom? The transformation of inner luminosity is immeasurable. By relying on merchants who are skilled in the path, and entering the ocean with a well-built ship, they will find the desired jewels, and return safely to their own place. By relying on love, compassion, joy, and equanimity, and cultivating virtue with bodhicitta, they will enter the path of perfect enlightenment, and will certainly go to the ground of omniscience. An arrow shot from the bow of a warrior, even if one does not intend to hit, will fly very far. A person who understands the meaning of all dharmas, even if they do not intend to reach the other shore, will reach the other shore. If the wings of a bird are naturally complete, there is no doubt that they will attain the fruit of buddhahood. If one realizes the nature of phenomena as completely pure, there is no self, no life, and no life to be cut off. There is no karma, and no ripening of that karma. A person who has completely abandoned all extremes is liberated. To realize this meaning, I have spoken this essence, and if one recites it with reverence, they will exhaust the sins of three countless kalpas. They will completely purify the three lower realms and all the sufferings of samsara, and will also eliminate all obscurations. You possess various forms, a youthful and beautiful form, Proclaiming the sound of Dharma, your voice is like the Kalavinka bird. Loving to all sentient beings, a protector with a compassionate heart, Your left lotus hand is unstained by the faults of samsara. Your right hand grants refuge and protection for the sake of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. You sit upon a seat of the sun and moon of skillful means and wisdom. Noble Tara, I take refuge in you! Protect me from the great precipice of samsara! I wander in the realms of the six destinies, Seize me with the hook of great compassion! I have strayed into the realms of the three lower realms, Lead me onto the path without straying! I am born into a lineage of wrong views, Grant me the mind of a guru and bodhisattva! I have met with bad friends! Lion, elephant, fire, and snake, Wild man, water, and plague, From these eight fears, Savior, I prostrate to you! In this world and others, I pray that you protect me from the eight fears! Until I have attained the fruit of the other shore, Generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, Concentration, wisdom, skillful means, and aspiration, Strength, and likewise, wisdom gone beyond, May I not be separated from these ten, and may I accompany them! Whatever son or daughter of good family writes this Dharma, Reads it, recites it, understands it, Properly keeps it in mind, And also widely teaches it to others.
