The Glorious Great Black One's Tantra. The Glorious Great Black One's Tantra. In Sanskrit: Śrī Mahākāla Tantra. In Tibetan: The Glorious Great Black One's Tantra. Homage to the powerful Hayagriva's body. Thus I have heard at one time. In the great charnel ground of the east-southeast, in a place of fierce roaring Haha, in the palace where many non-human males and females gather, called the exceedingly joyful sandalwood forest. There was one called the Glorious Great Black One, along with Vinayaka and others. At that time, in the midst of a retinue of fierce ones, there was one called the Great Black One, who controls the life-breath of sentient beings. At that time, in that era, in the realm of the western world, one called the King of Horses Who Finishes All, surrounded by a retinue including the four great kings. Abiding in the samadhi of subduing the arrogant, and holding the iron hook mudra. Reciting: Om Vajra Krodha Hayagrīva Hūṃ Hulu Hulu Hūṃ Bam. Due to the recitation, the Great Black One in the charnel ground of fierce roaring Haha, involuntarily appeared before the King of Horses Who Finishes All, saying: What is to be done? And offered this essence of his own nature and life. Offered: Om Vajra Mahākāla Kṣiṃ Kṣetra Vighnanā Vināyaka Hūṃ Hūṃ Phat. The first chapter, the introduction, from the Glorious Great Black One's Tantra. Then, King Migmi Zang asked the King of Horses Who Finishes All: Ema, Lord of the Lotus Wrathful One, Great Black One, fierce one, please explain the secret practice. Which deity should be practiced? Killing and separating body and life, and the indication of the place of death if not accomplished, the signs of the deity and hailstones, may the great Horse Supreme bestow upon me. Having asked thus, the Lotus Wrathful One, for the sake of the practice of the Black One, specially spoke. The mantra practitioner who possesses vows, for the sake of protecting the Buddha's teachings, on an auspicious planet, star, date, and time, in a charnel ground or a solitary place. Having accumulated a collection of merit, one should practice the Great Black One. On ashes or black earth, having made a square mandala. Smearing with incense and blood. In the center, draw a triangle with a crescent moon. Outside, draw an eight-petaled lotus. In the great skull cup in the center, place the five meats and hearts.

With the earth adorned, offer the torma, a cubit in size. Upon it, place an arrow-shaped object with red and black ribbons. Also, sculpt a knife-heart and tsakali. This is placed as the support of the Protector. Inside the skin of the damaru, write the life-mantra of the Protector. In a box, wrap the life-stone. Perform incense offerings and continuous torma offerings. Arrange offerings to all the Jewels. Then, meditate on oneself as Padma (Lotus), from the HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ, meaning: seed syllable) at one's heart, light radiates, visualizing the Lama, Buddhas, and so forth, in front of oneself, offer the five offerings. After the sevenfold purification, meditate on the four immeasurables. Equanimity and so forth. From the HUM (ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ, meaning: seed syllable) syllable on the lotus seat, arises the Black One, with one face and six arms, holding a curved knife, rosary, damaru, skull cup, spear, and noose, held in the right and left hands respectively. Adorned with snakes and precious jewels, the lower body wears a variegated bati (garment), with a tiger skin field as a loincloth. Fierce, with three eyes and bared fangs, the forehead adorned with a tilak of scented paste, the crown of the head firm with Akshobhya as an emanation body. Thus, clearly visualizing oneself and the front, invite, offer, and recite the mantra. With torma, puja, and so forth, give to the Great Black One. From the HUM (ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ, meaning: seed syllable) at the heart of the Protector, the life syllable circles from the right, recite with the surrounding environment. By reciting this diligently, signs of accomplishment of the Black One will appear. The second chapter, on approaching and accomplishing, from the glorious Great Black One Tantra, is complete. Then, the true meaning should be explained. If one wishes the Great Black One to slay those who destroy the Buddha's teachings and create obstacles for practitioners, then make a square platform, inside the fierce EH (ཨེ་,梵文天城体:ऐ,梵文罗马拟音:ai, meaning: seed syllable), in the skull of those who have cut off the lineage of men and women, make a form with beeswax, write the name and lineage, and combine the reasons for killing and sickness. The body and samaya substances of the Protector, place mouth to mouth. Fill the pig's head with poisonous substances, the horse torma and continuous torma, place on the right and left. Slay with this secret mantra.
