The Dharani called "Obstruction". The Dharani called "Obstruction". In Tibetan: The Dharani called "Obstruction". Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! The sinful result of being excessively stingy and obstructing others' possessions is as follows: The venerable Shariputra and the venerable Maudgalyayana were in a remote place, contemplating their respective wisdoms. At noon, the two of them were in a desolate place when they saw a female preta (hungry ghost) with a blue and withered body, making a "khok khok" sound, with tangled hair, red eyes skewed to the left, a long lower lip skewed to the right, a very thin neck and limbs, hands clenched into fists with nails piercing straight in, and bluish-green nails. She uttered five kinds of sounds from her mouth, namely, "Need," "Don't have," "Don't give," "Even if you give, it will be too much," and "Just give a little bit." It was a chilling sight. At that time, the two of them thought, "The monastery is far from the village and food is scarce, so it is better to go to the city to beg." So they obtained white foods, sweet foods, rice, barley flour, and other foods and drinks, and brought them to the preta. But she did not accept them, and instead uttered the five sounds mentioned above and fled. At that time, the two of them were very unhappy, thinking about the female preta, and without thinking of anything else, they immediately went to where the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha was staying in the Light Garden. They prostrated at his feet, but because they were exhausted, they did not dare to ask a question. The Bhagavan said, "Noble sons, what is wrong with you? If you have any questions, relax and ask." They said, "Bhagavan, we are very unhappy, and we have a lot of grievances in our hearts, and we feel exhausted." The Bhagavan asked, "What happened?" They said, "We two were in a remote place, and the Bhagavan had said that we should contemplate individually. We walked far away and saw a female preta with a blue and withered body, making a "khok khok" sound, with tangled hair, red eyes skewed to the left, a long lower lip skewed to the right, a very thin neck and limbs, hands clenched into fists with

The fingernails directly pierced through, appearing bluish-green. From the mouth emanated five kinds of sounds, as follows: saying "Need"; saying "No"; saying "Don't give"; saying "If you give, it will be too much"; and saying "Just give a little bit." After encountering something eerie, the two of us thought that the village was closer and had more food than the monastery, so we went to the city to beg. We obtained many foods and drinks such as the three white things, the three sweet things, rice, and barley flour. We took them to that hungry ghost woman and offered them. From her mouth, she uttered the above five kinds of sounds, and without accepting anything given, she ran away. We wondered what was happening and what methods could be used to heal her, so we went to ask. The Blessed One said: "Noble sons, that is very good. I will tell you, listen well and keep it in mind. What is the cause of this? The body is blue and emaciated because she herself is unwilling to eat. The neck is thin because she is stingy and doesn't let others eat or use things. The limbs are thin and the fingernails pierce directly through because she said to give less when others gave, and she herself was unwilling to use things. The hair is tangled because she did things that were not pleasing to everyone. The eyes are red because she is full of desire. Leaning to the left is because she looked at others with bad eyes. The upper lip is long and leans to the right because she said that giving would be too much. The five kinds of sounds emanating from the mouth are the result of actions matching their causes, and are due to the increase of habits from past speech. Due to such karmic power, no matter what is given, it will not help. Only water, which she cannot give herself, because she did not prevent others from using water, now, if you recite the mantra once over clean water that has not been touched by barley flour, and shake the bell once, and then give it, it will liberate her lineage and satisfy her desires. It is like this: Om, (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), blaze, (Tibetan: ཛྭ་ལ་, Devanagari: ज्वाल, Romanized Sanskrit: jvāla, Literal Chinese meaning: blaze), give, (Tibetan: མི་དཾ་, Devanagari: मिदं, Romanized Sanskrit: midaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: give), all, (Tibetan: སརྦ་, Devanagari: सर्व, Romanized Sanskrit: sarva, Literal Chinese meaning: all), hungry ghost, (Tibetan: པྲེ་ཏ་བྷྱཿ, Devanagari: प्रेत, Romanized Sanskrit: preta, Literal Chinese meaning: hungry ghost), svaha, (Tibetan: སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: svaha). Please, explain the meaning of this mantra. The Blessed One said: Om is the nature of the five wisdoms, it is the ultimate truth. Blaze is desire burning like fire. Give is human beings being stingy and obstructive.
