The Sutra of the Noble Auspicious Night The Sutra of the Noble Auspicious Night In Sanskrit: Arya Bhadra Ratri Nama Sutra. In Tibetan: འཕགས་པ་མཚན་མོ་བཟང་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་མདོ། (The Sutra of the Noble Auspicious Night). Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in the Jeta Grove in Rajagriha, at the place of Kalanda. At that time, a certain monk was dwelling near the Chutala Pota in Rajagriha. Then, a deity with excellent color, as night fell, went to where the monk was, and having gone, illuminated the entire vicinity of the Chutala Pota, and said to the monk: Monk, do you know the Sutra of the Auspicious Night? He said: Deity, I do not know the Sutra of the Auspicious Night. Deity, do you know the Sutra of the Auspicious Night or not? He said: Monk, I also do not know the Sutra of the Auspicious Night. 知道。神啊，那么寻求《善夜经》的那样的人是谁呢？他说这样的话：在王舍城的 ஒளி 树林，鸟卡兰达卡居住的地方，到世尊那里去请教，世尊怎样给你授记，就像那样精勤于此双运。说完，那位神就消失不见了。尊者，为了那件事，我全部禀告。世尊开示说：比丘，你知道那位神吗？那位比丘禀告说：尊者，我不知道那位神。世尊开示说：那位天子是三十三天诸神的统帅，名叫旃檀。那位比丘禀告说：尊者，我也想听闻《善夜经》。世尊开示说：比丘，因此你要好好地听，好好地记住，我将为你解说。比丘，如果具备三种法，那么比丘就称为安住于《善夜经》。哪三种呢？就像这样，不对过去依恋，对未来没有期望，对于现在生起的诸法，不被其所夺而安住的法性。具备这三种法，那么比丘就称为安住于《善夜经》。世尊这样开示后，善逝这样说了后，导师又这样说：不对过去依恋，对未来没有期望，过去已灭，未来还未到。对于现在生起的诸法，在那上面好好观察，不被分别念所夺，那些智者已经领悟。谁知道明天是否会死，今天就要做该做的事。死神大军，不是我所能知道的。一切有情和一切众生，一切 生灵和一切，都能获得安乐，愿一切没有烦恼。愿一切都看到美好，愿一切不造罪恶。像那样安住并精进，日夜不懈怠，因此《善夜经》，能仁总是宣说。

know. God, then who is such a seeker of the Sutra of Auspicious Night? He said this: In the ஒளி grove of the royal palace, where the bird Kalandaka resides, go to the Blessed One and ask, and as the Blessed One prophesies to you, so diligently strive for this union. Having said this, that god disappeared immediately. Venerable, for that matter, I report all of this. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, do you know that god? That Bhikshu reported: Venerable, I do not know that god. The Blessed One said: That son of the gods is the leader of the thirty-three gods, named Chandana. That Bhikshu reported: Venerable, I also want to hear the Sutra of Auspicious Night. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, therefore, listen well and remember well, and I will explain it to you. Bhikshu, if one possesses three qualities, then a Bhikshu is said to abide in the Sutra of Auspicious Night. What are the three? It is like this: not clinging to the past, not expecting the future, and the nature of abiding without being robbed by the dharmas that arise in the present. Possessing these three qualities, then a Bhikshu is said to abide in the Sutra of Auspicious Night. After the Blessed One said this, the Sugata said this, and the Teacher said again: Do not cling to the past, do not expect the future, the past has ceased, the future has not yet come. For the dharmas that arise in the present, observe them well, without being robbed by discrimination, those wise ones have realized. Who knows whether they will die tomorrow, today they must do what should be done. The great army of the Lord of Death is not something I can know. All sentient beings and all living beings, all creatures and everything, may attain happiness, may all be without afflictions. May all see goodness, may all not commit sins. Abiding and striving in this way, without negligence day and night, therefore, the Sutra of Auspicious Night is always spoken by the Able One.
