To the east, the goddess Ushnishavijaya who completely subdues, to the west, the goddess Ushnishavijaya who completely subdues afflictions, to the north, the goddess Ushnishavijaya who completely subdues the diseases of the skandhas, to the fire direction, Vajra Mala life-giving mother, to the devoid of truth, the great illusion mother, to the wind direction, Golden Light Mother, to the powerful one, the golden garlanded one, the life-giving mother. The four vessels are filled with fragrant water, and flower garlands are hung. Around this, three lines should be drawn with colored powders. For the first garland, one thousand tsatsas made of wet clay without hair etc. should be arranged. If it is not accomplished, then one hundred must definitely be placed. Having made offerings with great respect and reverence in the four directions, the Dharma speakers who hold the vow of not speaking other words should recite this dharani. Each time it is recited, it should be offered to the top of the stupa and blessed. By reciting it one thousand times, the hand should be moved and offered to the top of the central stupa. All the offerings such as flowers, incense, lamps, scented water, and torma should be offered in the form of a garland of stupas for each thousand recitations. Until it is completely finished, the garland of lamps that is not damaged by the wind should be lit. One should abide in equipoise and diligently maintain cleanliness. If done in this way, one will live to seven years in seven days. At the age of seven, one will thus obtain the supreme life, be liberated from diseases, and live to a hundred years. All untimely deaths will also not be encountered. If one does other than this order of close practice, it will not be accomplished. The first chapter is complete.
