The contemplation of the Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas'. The contemplation of the Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas'. In Sanskrit: Sarva Tathāgatōṣṇīṣa Vijaya Nāma Dhāraṇī Kalpa. In Tibetan: The contemplation of the Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas'. Homage to the Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa! Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Sukhāvatī. The Blessed One, the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, Amitāyus, was dwelling near the grove of the great cave palace that perfectly gathers the Dharma, in a pleasant place. He spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the Noble Avalokiteśvara: "Son of good family, there are sentient beings who are afflicted by suffering and various diseases, and whose lives are short. For their sake, in order to accomplish long life, this Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas' should be held. It should also be extensively and correctly taught to others." Then, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the Noble Avalokiteśvara, arose from his seat, folded his palms, and spoke thus to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, please teach the Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas'! Sugata, please teach it!" Then, the Blessed One gazed upon the maṇḍala of the assembly complete with all, and having entered into the samādhi called 'Glorious Light Everywhere', he spoke this Dhāraṇī called 'Victorious Banner of the Uṣṇīṣa of All Tathāgatas': Oṃ namo bhagavate sarva trailokya prati viśiṣṭāya buddhāya te namaḥ. Tadyathā: Oṃ bhrūṃ bhrūṃ bhrūṃ śodhaya śodhaya viśodhaya viśodhaya asama samantā avabhāsa spharaṇa gati gagana svabhāva viśuddhe abhiṣiñcantu māṃ sarva tathāgatā sugata varavacana amṛtābhiṣekair mahāmudrā mantrapadaiḥ.
