The Dharani Called "Essence of the Holy Buddha" The Dharani Called "Essence of the Holy Buddha" In Sanskrit: Arya Buddha Hrdayam Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Dharani Called "Essence of the Holy Buddha." Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was in a garden by the sea, in a grove of trees in the realm of the Buddha's activity, seated on a lion throne. Surrounded and attended by a retinue of gods, he taught the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the sons of the gods of the Pure Abodes, such as Great Powerful One, Good Ascetic, and so forth: "Sons of the gods, therefore, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will explain. In the future, the Tathagata will gather the four assemblies, follow, completely follow, act especially, fulfill all meanings and all Dharmas, and in order to make those who have entered the Great Vehicle attain distinction in all ways, I will teach the Dharma category of the dharani called 'Essence of the Buddha.' Hold it! Now keep it in mind, and after I have completely passed into nirvana, in the future, teach it to the four assemblies who have entered the Great Vehicle! Speak it! Do not forget it, be sure to show it, proclaim it! To those who have become impoverished and have obscurations, protect the words of the Tathagata, be sure to show it, proclaim it!" Whichever son of a noble family or daughter of a noble family from the four assemblies who have truly entered the Great Vehicle, if they touch it with their body or recite it well and hold it, they should not have a lowly mind. Just as the Tathagata is, so too will they be, and will abide on the boundary above the crown of their heads. Some will surely see the Buddha. Some will hear the Dharma. Some will teach the Dharma. Some will not forget the Dharani. Those who abide on the path of learning will not have their lineage of the path cut off, and teaching the Dharma will not be cut off. They will also not forget what they have received. They will accomplish what they have held in one lifetime. If they possess these qualities, they will obtain the Dharani of all that is heard like the ocean. From obtaining the tolerance of non-arising Dharma, up to the complete and unobstructed liberation of the Buddha, they will also obtain it. You should understand the intention of my teachings in this life. You should also truly explain and propagate it to those sons of noble families or daughters of noble families. Do not abandon it. Do not delay. Do not forget it. I beseech you! Blessed One, we will accomplish it in this way. Blessed One, this category of Dharma of the Dharani called "Tathagatagarbha," in the future age, should be explained to the four assemblies without delay and without abandonment.

་པར་བགྱི། བཤད་པར་བགྱིའོ། །རིགས་ཀྱི་བུའམ། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་དེ་དག་ལ་ཡང་ངེས་པར་བསྟན་པར་བགྱི་ཞིང་བསྒྲག་པར་བགྱིའོ། །དེ་ན་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་བཀའ་ལུང་དང་མཐུན་པར་འགྱུར། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཡོངས་སུ་བཟུང་བར་འགྱུར། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུའམ། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་དེ་དག་ལ་ཡང་དོན་ཆེན་པོ་དང་ཕན་པའི་དངོས་པོ་ཆེན་པོར་འགྱུར་ལགས་སོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ལྷའི་བུ་དག་དེའི་ཕྱིར་ཇི་སྐད་སྨྲས་པ་དེ་བཞིན་གྱིས་ཤིག །འདི་ནི་ཁྱེད་ལ་རྗེས་སུ་བསྟན་པའོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ནས།དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེན་པོ་དཀའ་ཐུབ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་སོགས་པ་གནས་གཙང་མའི་རིས་གྱི་ལྷའི་བུ་རྣམས་དང་། ཐམས་ཅད་དང་ལྡན་པའི་འཁོར་དེ་ཡི་རངས་ཏེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་གསུངས་པ་ལ་མངོན་པར་བསྟོད་དོ། །འཕགས་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་གཟུངས་རྫོགས་སོ།། །།རྒྱ་གར་གྱི་མཁན་པོ་ཛི་ན་མི་ཏྲ་དང་། དཱ་ན་ཤཱི་ལ་དང་། ཞུ་ཆེན་ལོ་ཙྪ་བ་བན་དེ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྡེས་བསྒྱུར་ཅིང་ཞུས་ཏེ། སྐད་གསར་བཅད་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་བཅོས་ནས་གཏན་ལ་ཕབ་པ།། འཕགས་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་གཟུངས།
