བ་ནས་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་མགུ་རངས་ཏེ། ཁྲིམས་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་དཔེ་གསེར་གྱི་སྒྲོམ་བུར་བཅུག་ནས་ཀླུ་ལ་བསྐུར་ཏོ། །ཀླུ་དེས་ཐོབ་ནས་ཤིན་ཏུ་དགའ་བས་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཡང་མང་དུ་ཕུལ་ལོ། །ཉིན་ཞག་གཅིག་པའི་ཁྲིམས་བརྒྱད་བསྲུངས་ནས་གཞན་དག་ཀྱང་བསྲུང་བར་བསྐུལ་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་དེའི་ཚེ་འཕོས་ནས་ལྷར་སྐྱེས་སོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ཡང་དེ་བཞིན་དུ། ཁྲིམས་བསྲུངས་པས་འཆི་བའི་དུས་བྱས་ནས་གནས་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ་ལྷར་སྐྱེས་ཏེ། དེ་གཉིས་མདང་ནམ་གྱི་ཆ་སྟོད་ལ་ངའི་སྤྱན་སྔར་འོངས་ཏེ། ཅི་རིགས་པར་ཆོས་བསྟན་པས་རྒྱུན་དུ་ཞུགས་པའི་འབྲས་བུ་ཐོབ་ནས། ངན་སོང་གསུམ་དང་ཡོངས་སུ་བྲལ་ཏེ། ལྷ་དང་མིའི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་མྱོང་ཞིང་མཐར་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པའི་བར་དུ་ཐོབ་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་གསུངས་པ་ལ་འཁོར་མང་པོ་ཐམས་ཅད་རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རངས་ནས་མངོན་པར་དགའོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུས་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་བསྲུངས་པའི་ལེའུ་སྟེ་གསུམ་པའོ།། །། གསུམ་པ། ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུས་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་བསྲུངས་པའི་ལེའུ།

之后无比欢喜踊跃，将八戒的范本装入金匣中，交付给龙。那龙得到后非常高兴，也向那位国王供奉了许多珍宝。守护一日一夜的八戒，也劝请其他人守护。之后，他寿命终结后转生为天神。那位国王也同样，因为守护戒律，临终时也一同转生到天界。这二者昨晚在上半夜来到我的面前，根据各自的情况宣讲佛法，获得了入流果，完全脱离了三恶道，享受天人和人类的福报，最终证得涅槃。世尊如此宣说后，众多眷属都随喜赞叹，感到非常欢喜。周遍行者守护戒律品第三（终）。 第三，周遍行者守护戒律品。

Thereafter, he rejoiced exceedingly and, placing the exemplar of the eight precepts in a golden casket, entrusted it to the nāga. Having received it, the nāga was greatly pleased and offered many jewels to that king. He kept the eight precepts for one day and night and urged others to keep them as well. Then, when his life expired, he was reborn as a god. That king also, in the same way, by keeping the precepts, at the time of death, was reborn together in the heavenly realm. These two came before me in the early part of last night, and having taught the Dharma according to their capacity, they obtained the fruit of entering the stream. They were completely separated from the three lower realms, experiencing the enjoyments of gods and humans, and ultimately attained to nirvāṇa. When the Blessed One had spoken thus, all the many in the assembly rejoiced and were exceedingly delighted. The third chapter, on the keeping of moral discipline by the wanderer, is complete.
