He teaches the Dharma to many billions of beings, these are the distinctions of the third patience. In all the Jambudvipas of this Buddha-field, that Bodhisattva will appear, and will be known in the world as gods and asuras, these are the distinctions of the third patience. The conduct of the Buddhas, and the behavior of the Sugatas, the Bodhisattva teaches to all, these are the distinctions of the third patience. Whatever sentient beings there are in this world-realm, if they praise the Bodhisattva, and rejoice in it, then they have not yet trained in the wisdom of the Buddha. Whatever sentient beings there are in this world-realm, if they speak unpleasant words to the Bodhisattva, and become angry in their minds, then they have not yet trained in the wisdom of the Buddha. Acquiring wealth does not make the mind happy, and not acquiring wealth does not make one unhappy, one always abides in a mind as stable as a mountain, these are the distinctions of the third patience. This teaches the patience that follows sound, and is in accordance with thought and meditation, that which arises from hearing is unborn, whoever trains in this is on the path to enlightenment. Whenever a Bodhisattva obtains these three unsurpassed patiences, the supreme person, the Sugata, will see him, and will prophesy that he will attain stainless enlightenment. After receiving that prophecy, the earth will shake in six ways, the Buddha-fields will become very bright with light, and the gods will shower down billions of flowers. After hearing that prophecy, countless billions of sentient beings will think, "May we become worthy of offerings," and will generate the supreme mind of enlightenment. Whenever a Bodhisattva obtains these three unsurpassed patiences, he will not be born or die, and there will be no death or rebirth for him. Whenever a perfect Bodhisattva obtains these three unsurpassed patiences, he will not see birth or death, and will see all phenomena abiding in the nature of reality. Thus, he knows that these are not true, that all phenomena are like illusions, empty in nature, and he does not see emptiness or death, all these phenomena are by nature.

Emptiness. When one reveres actions, And performs service, respect, and offerings, Yet the mind does not rejoice in that, Because one knows that all phenomena are empty in nature. Even if sentient beings scold, threaten, or strike, One does not generate pride or anger towards them. For the sake of liberating those sentient beings, One constantly generates stable love towards them. Even if struck and defiled by stones and sticks, The wise one does not become angry, For one who dwells well in the patience of selflessness, There is no stain of pride or anger. Thus, one knows it is unreal, Like an illusion, all phenomena are empty in nature. If one abides in such a Dharma nature, One is highly revered in the world with gods. When sentient beings hold weapons, And cut off one's body and many limbs, One does not have anger in one's mind towards them, Nor does one diminish from compassion and love. When they cut off one's body and limbs, One generates this thought towards them: Until these are not placed in supreme enlightenment, I will not pass into peaceful nirvana. In such unsurpassed power of patience, Dwelling in the equality of selflessness and patience, The Bodhisattva of great renown, Constantly meditates diligently for countless eons. More than that, even as many as the sands of the Ganges, The Buddhas do not make effort with their wisdom. If enlightenment is not touched, What need is there to speak of the wisdom of the Tathagata? The great renown, the endless proclamation, One who dwells well in the patience of selflessness, Even if proclaimed for hundreds of incalculable eons, It is not easy to exhaust the praise of that. Therefore, enlightenment is supreme and unsurpassed, Whoever desires to perfect the accumulation of wisdom, Should meditate on the patience praised by the Victorious Ones, It will not be difficult to find the sacred enlightenment. The seventh chapter, Entering Patience, is complete.
