Blessed One, we should uphold, read, teach, thoroughly explain, and write this vast Dharma discourse." Then, Manjushri and other Bodhisattvas, billions of trillions of many who dwell in this world of endurance, and monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and great Bodhisattvas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, all said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, after the Tathagata has passed into complete nirvana, we too will thoroughly and correctly explain this Dharma discourse. Blessed One, we will not be present in physical bodies, but will abide in the sky and proclaim the Dharma with our voices. We will help sentient beings who have not cultivated roots of virtue to cultivate roots of virtue." Then, the Bhagavan Tathagata Shakyamuni and, the Bhagavan who had passed into complete Nirvana, the Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Ratnasambhava, seated on a lion throne in the center of the stupa, both smiled. From the doors of their mouths, they extended their tongues, and those tongues reached up to the Brahma world. From those two tongues, countless billions of hundreds of thousands of rays of light emerged. From those rays of light, from each ray of light, countless billions of hundreds of thousands of Bodhisattvas appeared, their bodies the color of gold, endowed with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, seated on lotus-heart lion thrones. Those Bodhisattvas also went to hundreds of thousands of world realms in all directions and intermediate directions, and in all those directions and intermediate directions, they remained in the sky and taught the Dharma. Just as the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Shakyamuni and, the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Ratnasambhava's tongues displayed miraculous emanations, so too, from other countless billions of hundreds of thousands of world realms, those Tathagata Arhats Samyak-sambuddhas who had passed away, under jeweled trees, each seated on a lion throne, also displayed miraculous emanations with their tongues. Then, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni and, the Tathagata Ratnasambhava, and all those Tathagata Arhats Samyak-sambuddhas, manifested miraculous emanations for a full hundred thousand years. Then, after a hundred thousand years had passed, those Tathagata Arhats Samyak-sambuddhas withdrew their tongues, and at the same time, in an instant, a moment, a snap of the fingers, all the Buddhas uttered a great, clear throat sound, and at the same time, made a sound like the ringing of a bell. In those Buddha-fields, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-human beings, as many sentient beings as there were, remained there, and through the power of the Buddhas, all of them saw this Sahā world. They saw countless billions of Tathāgatas seated on their respective lion thrones under jeweled trees, as well as the Bhagavan Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha Shakyamuni, and the Bhagavan who had passed into complete nirvana, the Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha Many Jewels, seated on a lion throne in the center of that great jeweled stupa, seated together with the Bhagavan Tathāgata Shakyamuni, and they also saw those fourfold assemblies. Having seen that, they were amazed, they were astonished, they obtained great joy, and from the sky they heard this sound: "Friends, after passing countless billions of immeasurable and innumerable Buddha-fields, in that place called the Sahā world, that one called the Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha Shakyamuni, is now extensively expounding this category of Dharma called the 'White Lotus of the Good Dharma,' a great sutra of vast extent, instructing the Bodhisattvas, protected by all the Buddhas, and also truly revealing it to the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Therefore, you too should rejoice with superior intention! Pay homage to the Bhagavan Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha Shakyamuni! Make offerings!" They heard this. Then, all those sentient beings, having heard such a sound from the sky, remained there and paid homage to the Bhagavan Tathāgata Shakyamuni.
