Whoever constantly lives in fear, even if called powerful, will not become one with many servants. Friends, virtuous and evil deeds are not in vain. Therefore, friends, you should always practice with a mind of loving-kindness, deeds of loving-kindness with the body, deeds of loving-kindness with speech, and deeds of loving-kindness with the mind. Strive to abide in non-contention, non-faultfinding, and non-argument, and that will be meaningful for a long time, beneficial, happy, and without regret. After thus speaking, those lords of the Asuras addressed the Blessed One, saying: Blessed One, it is so. Sugata, it is so. As the Blessed One has spoken, we will do accordingly. We will practice accordingly. We will abide accordingly. Blessed One, we also will not prepare for war from now on. We will always treat each other with loving-kindness. Then, Indra, the lord of the gods, grieved at the Blessed One's passing into complete Nirvana, weeping with tears falling on his face, suffering, displeased, and with a great arrow of sorrow, addressed the Blessed One, saying: Blessed One, from now on, as long as the sacred Dharma of the Blessed One's passing into Nirvana remains, I will not approach forms, nor touch touchables, nor enter into women's skirts, nor seek other clothes. Blessed One, for example, whatever sentient beings are grateful, know gratitude, and cherish what has been done, when those lords die, they suffer and shed tears for that, likewise, when you, Blessed One, pass into Nirvana, the Blessed One's
