In the past, the words well-spoken by the Bhagavan, Satisfied the retinues completely. Now the Victorious One intends to show the power of the Victorious One to King Suddhodana. King Suddhodana said to the Bhagavan: "Young man, you are the great lord of the earth, Wise men have prophesied that you will become a king, I previously requested you not to leave the household. You will be a Chakravartin king ruling the four continents, And will be worshiped by billions of beings. You will possess the seven precious jewels, And will also possess the four kinds of wealth. Abiding in the Dharma and also ruling the earth, The great king of the royal lineage will rule the four continents. You will become the master of men and the object of worship for men, I pray that you will accept the abundant offerings." Then, at that time, that Bodhisattva, From countless billions of eons, I have always spoken truthful words, King, please listen to my words. Like this, with the kingdom of the four continents, You intend to deceive me, Great King, from such behavior, You have no trust in me at all. Great King, in the past it happened that, A sea wave tossed up a sea turtle, When the sea wave receded, That turtle fell into a well. To this, the turtle in the well, Said to the sea turtle: "Where did you come from? In order to dispel the doubts that have arisen in me, Please tell me quickly." It said so. To that turtle in the well, The wise sea turtle certainly said: "I was tossed around by the sea waves, And today I will leave this well. The great sea wave has receded, I cannot go back again, Because I am separated from the wave, Therefore, I will dwell in your well." To this

井中之龟问曰： “大海就如这井一般吗？ 或者比这井更大些？” 问后请速速告知。 大海之龟心胸宽广， 对井中之龟如是说： “井中之龟你真是个孩子， 心胸狭窄，见识浅薄。 我生于咸水之中， 长久以来都在那里生长， 却仍未能知晓大海的边际， 又怎能知晓大海的中心呢？” 如是说。 同样，你，人中之王， 也未能领会我的神力。 岛屿之上的供养者们， 认为你能欺骗我。 我将成为有法之士，成为正法的君王， 不用刑罚，不用刀剑弓箭， 来守护这三千大千世界， 将获得超越世间的供养。 具有神通之力的本性， 世尊想要净化往昔之语， 因此，对广大的眷属， 以及众生们心怀慈悲。 为了让净饭王心生欢喜， 以慈悲之心完全策励， 三界一切众生， 在那时都将聚集于此。 《国王的期望》第三品完。 第三品，《国王的期望》。

I shall become one with Dharma, become the king of Dharma, without punishments, without swords or arrows, I shall protect this three-thousandfold great thousand world, and shall receive offerings that transcend the world. Possessing the nature of magical power, the Bhagavan, wishing to purify the words of the past, therefore, to the great retinue, as well as to sentient beings, he held compassion in his heart. In order to please King Śuddhodana's mind, he completely urged with a compassionate heart, all the beings of the three realms, at that time, they will all gather there.
