Chapter Twenty-Nine: Following Cognition Chapter Twenty-Nine: Following Cognition Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should thus follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom: Because all dharmas are without origination, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without distinction, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without arising, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are equal without alteration, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without self and without discrimination, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom by following realization with wisdom. Because all dharmas are expressed only by name and designation, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Designation is also not in anything, not by anything, and there is no designation. Because all dharmas are without designation, inexpressible, without speech, and without syllables, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are immeasurable, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because form is immeasurable, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Likewise, because feeling is immeasurable, perception is immeasurable, formations are immeasurable, and consciousness is immeasurable, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without characteristics, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are distinguishable, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are completely pure by nature, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without syllables, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas are without cessation, and what should be abandoned is equal, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all dharmas have attained Nirvana and are equal to Suchness, one should follow cognition of the Perfection of Wisdom.

All dharmas neither come nor go, neither know nor are born, and are extremely unborn; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. Because they do not fall into self and other, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas, the noble Arhats, are completely pure by their very nature; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas are a burden laid down, not carrying a burden; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas are without place or direction; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Subhuti, form, by its very nature, is without place or direction. Subhuti, likewise, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are without place or direction by their very nature. All dharmas cause cessation, utter pacification; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. There is no joy, nor is there absence of joy; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. There is no attachment, nor is there absence of attachment; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Subhuti, form, by its very nature as it is, does not become attached, nor does it become detached. Subhuti, likewise, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, by their very nature as they are, do not become attached, nor do they become detached. Because of the nature of goodness, it is completely pure; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas are free from the clinging to attachment and non-attachment; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. By understanding the wisdom of the Buddhas, knowing all dharmas to be enlightenment, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas are emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness; therefore, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. With great love as the forerunner, knowing all dharmas to be like medicine, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom. All dharmas

Because all dharmas have become pure, not generating hatred and not accepting all hatred, one should know the Prajnaparamita accordingly.
