Is that also for the afternoon? Is that also for seven days? Is it possible to keep that medicine until one lives?" Upali: "Yes, it is." Upali: "Sugarcane is for the morning. Juice is for the afternoon. Brown sugar is for seven days. Burnt ashes are until one lives." Upali: "Yogurt is for the morning. Water is for the afternoon. Butter is for seven days. Burnt ashes are until one lives." Upali: "Meat is for the morning. Oil is for seven days. Burnt ashes are until one lives." Upali: "Grain is for the morning. Grain oil is for seven days. Burnt ashes are until one lives." Venerable, if these medicines for the morning, afternoon, seven days, and until one lives are mixed together, is it permissible to consume them? Upali: "It is not permissible."
