Then, the Yaksha dwelling in the wilderness, adorned with pure gold, beautifully embellished with jewels, with flames blazing intensely, residing in the willow grove, firmly grasping the feet of the secret lord Vajrapani, asked with great concentration: Blessed Jambhala, king of wealth, lord of all secret mantras, worshiped by all vidyadharas, worshiped by gods and demigods, diligently subduing the untamed, possessing the qualities of a Bodhisattva, protector, benefiting all sentient beings, holding the secrets of all Buddhas, benefiting sentient beings, with a mind overwhelmed by compassion, for the sake of perfect enlightenment, I also generate the mind of enlightenment. Seeing that people have little wealth, little merit, and little power, and are greatly afflicted by suffering, O secret lord! After Jambhala spoke thus, the Blessed One, the secret lord, spoke with compassion: Well done, well done, secret one! Protector Jambhala, possessing great glory, benefiting all sentient beings, eliminating the suffering of poverty, the sovereign lord of all wealth, the hundred and eight names possessing great merit, eliminating the sins of poverty. The Victorious Ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, previously proclaimed, in the field called Hundred Lights, when the Buddha Sun-Face taught the Dharma, I also heard it myself, it eliminates poverty and possesses great merit. With my wisdom, for the benefit of all sentient beings, I will explain it well to you, you should listen attentively. Holy one, the teacher of gods and demigods, possessing wisdom, respecting the Dharma, possessing compassion, enduring, steadfast, with senses pacified, subduing the senses, virtuous, destroying evil, possessing mindfulness, accomplishing all meaningful purposes, not harming, not deceiving, possessing great glory, the lord of treasures, unconquerable by others, the sole protector of the Three Jewels, seen by all Buddhas, protecting all treasures, possessing great splendor.
