As it says in the Sutra Requested by Blo-dros Gya-tso: Just as a drop of water falls into the ocean, it will not be exhausted until the ocean is exhausted. Likewise, the virtue completely dedicated to Bodhi will not be exhausted until Bodhi is attained. And, as said by the Kagyu Rinpoche: For burying inexhaustible treasures, it is most precious to cultivate and increase them with the Mahayana dedication. As it is said, the witness of the dedication, the Protector Amitayus, clearly appears in the sky in front. I beseech all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions and three times, all those who possess the eye of wisdom, to consider the donor, so-and-so. The root of virtue accumulated by the donor or donor mother in the three times, and the root of virtue offered or done in this way, I offer to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, including the Buddha Amitayus. Having offered in this way, may immeasurable clouds of offerings arise continuously. Based on that, may the precious Buddha Dharma flourish and spread in all directions and times. May the lives of the holy beings who uphold the Dharma be long and their activities expand. May such a root of virtue be completely dedicated to all sentient beings who need dedication, including the parents, relatives, and close friends of the donors. May they obtain as dedicated, cut off the door of the six realms of rebirth, and be born in the western Sukhavati pure land. May they perfect the qualities of the grounds and paths and attain perfect enlightenment. May such a root of virtue fully ripen in the mindstream of the donor so-and-so right now. Based on such ripening, if they are harmed by diseases caused by the combination of wind, bile, and phlegm, may the eight Sugata Medicine Buddhas protect and save them. If they are harmed by human and livestock diseases, may the noble Parṇaśavarī protect and save them.
