Instructions on the Stages of Dissolution for Peaceful and Wrathful Deities. Instructions on the Stages of Dissolution for Peaceful and Wrathful Deities. Herein lies the Instructions on the Stages of Dissolution for Peaceful and Wrathful Deities, composed by Karma Ara. May it be virtuous! The mantra holder Raga Asya says: Explanations on the stages of dissolution and so forth, knowing much is also unnecessary. It is certain to be attained, like this: When you are certain that you will die, visualize your own body as the deity of your chosen deity, and on the crown of your head, visualize the guru Amitabha (Tibetan: འོད་དཔག་མེད།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमिताभ, Sanskrit Romanization: Amitābha, Literal Chinese meaning: Immeasurable Light), as the embodiment of all Buddhas. Body, possessions, relatives, fields, houses, wealth, whatever there is, visualize as a single mandala, and offer it three times by anointing the ground with incense. Like a patron who has finished making offerings, whoever takes it, let them take it, whoever eats it, let them eat it. Completely abandon attachment and clinging from the root. My work is meditation and practice, that is what is needed now. Thinking like this, slightly sharpen your awareness. From the perfect Buddha down to the smallest insect, there is not a single place to stay without dying. I have spent my life in Dharma, thinking there is no happiness greater than this, you must cultivate great pride. For the sake of sentient beings, from dying and attaining enlightenment as the Dharmakaya, in the bardo, arise as the Sambhogakaya, and in rebirth, perform the deeds of the Nirmanakaya. Generate such a mind of bodhicitta three times. Then, your own body is clearly visualized as the deity, block the impure eight gates with the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum). The central channel in the body is about the size of an arrow shaft, white on the outside, red on the inside, empty and clear. The upper end is the Brahma hole, Hadapho, the lower end is below the navel, like a reed node. In the center of the navel, on top of the four petals of a lotus, the bindu of your own mind in the center of the heart, is like a white, moist pea, visualize it shining, vibrating, and flickering. As in the time of transference of consciousness, at the crown of the head, dissolve it into the heart of Amitabha. Do this in general three times. Then, without visualizing anything, place the practice on the surface of the mind. Stages of dissolution, white path, black path, etc., there is no need to recognize or identify them. Whatever arises, maintain its essence. At the moment when the outer breath ceases, the corpse bearer should carefully lift the corpse with care. Do not be distracted from your samaya, and allow them to recite. At that time, even the sky will disappear, and what is called the ground luminosity, is said to be like a cloudless sky. In reality, that naked essence will clearly arise. At that time, recognize that very nature, and abide in that nature, which is named abiding in samaya. How long should it last?

The instruction is: The mind at the time of death is very powerful, and whatever vows are made will be fulfilled. Therefore, do not think that it is just this much; at the time of death, make strong vows. First, practice the transference of consciousness: If you fail to grasp the mind, or if circumstances cause the mind to waver, do not transfer it elsewhere, but transfer it to the crown of the head. Visualize yourself as the deity, with unwavering mind and no obstacles, and whatever vows you make will be fulfilled. A Dharma friend similar to yourself, by clearly reminding the mind, can help the mind firmly grasp, and you will see the vows being fulfilled. These are good omens of dependent arising and death, and you can achieve it through repeated experience. The mind of transference of consciousness and union arises from the teachings of the Incomparable Dagpo. Furthermore, in the manner of traversing the bardo, there will be twenty-one high and low situations. If the differences are explained in detail, the meaning is complete even when everything is summarized. The very last is also the "Tai" method, which anyone can actually experience. Whether or not you grasp the mind, whether or not you successfully transfer consciousness, the peaceful and wrathful deities of the bardo, whether or not you recognize them, after death, when the two seven-day periods and the three seven-day periods are about to end, you will be certain that you have died, and you will have clairvoyance and miraculous powers, with great freedom to go wherever you want. If you become attached to places, relatives, Dharma friends, etc., then take a human body in this place and practice pure Dharma. If you cannot quickly obtain a body, the messengers of Yama will take you away. If good and evil are separated, you will be afraid because you feel that you cannot obtain a human body smoothly. At that time, remember this: From beginningless time, wandering in samsara has been very long. For so many teachings of the Buddhas, I have been procrastinating. Now I still have to experience countless births and deaths in endless samsara, which is truly tiring. Now is the degenerate age of the five degenerations, with short life, many diseases, and many obstacles. Obtaining a human body only brings suffering to oneself. Except for pure lands such as Abhirati, it is impossible to be reborn without obtaining a position. Humans are as weak as falling on the ground. Even if you are reborn in Tushita, Copper-Colored Mountain of Glory, etc., you cannot be sure that you will not fall. Potala Mountain is a sacred place, and the others are not as good as ourselves. There are few opportunities to see Avalokiteśvara. Only through the power of the aspirations of Amitābha can you be reborn, possessing bliss and qualities. Once reborn, you will not
