Preliminary for Reading the Words of the Buddha. Preliminary for Reading the Words of the Buddha. Preliminary for Reading the Words of the Buddha, may it be auspicious! I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, until enlightenment. By the merit of my giving, etc., may I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings. May all mother sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness, may they be free from suffering and the causes of suffering, may they never be separated from the sacred happiness free from suffering, may they abide in great equanimity, free from attachment and aversion to near and far. May all sentient beings, equal to the sky, have happiness and be free from suffering, and for the sake of attaining the precious state of unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, I will engage in turning the wheel of the Dharma of the Great Vehicle of the teachings. Oṃ svabhāva śuddha sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷསརྦ་དྷརཿསྭ་བྷཱ་ཤུདྡྷོཉཧཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ स्वभावशुद्धः सर्वधर्माः स्वभावशुद्धोऽहम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, nature pure, all dharmas, nature pure, I.) Become emptiness. From the state of emptiness, from the essence of self-awareness, the letter A completely transforms, and I instantly become the Bhagavan, the Victorious Shakyamuni Buddha. The color of his body is like the color of pure gold. One face, two arms, the right hand touching the earth, the left hand in meditative equipoise. The head has a crown protuberance, the feet have wheels, etc., adorned with the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor signs of excellence. Light and rays radiate in all ten directions. To his right is Shariputra, to his left is Maudgalyayana. In front is Subhuti, behind is Ananda, and so on, the eight great Shravakas. Twelve great Pratyekabuddhas. Five hundred and five thousand Arhats, and so on, surrounded by countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, past, future, and present. In the space in front of him, in the center of a perfectly complete throne supported by eight lions, the yellow letter 藏文:ཚྭ་(梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:不变异) radiates light. Offering to the Noble Ones, accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. Gathering back, it completely transforms into the Dharmakaya Great Mother, the color of her body is like the color of pure gold, one face, four arms. The first two hands hold a vajra and a scripture, the lower two hands make the mudra of meditative equipoise. She is surrounded by countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions.

Possessing a pure body, supremely beautiful form, Wisdom like an ocean, like a golden Mount Meru, Whose fame resounds throughout the three realms, I prostrate to the protector who accomplishes everything. Beyond speech, thought, and expression, Prajnaparamita, Unborn, unceasing, the very nature of space, Self-aware, the realm of wisdom, I prostrate to the mother of the Buddhas of the three times. Sentient beings and various trees, From light rays and all of space, The sound of the sacred Dharma flows continuously, May all sentient beings hear it. The tree of Dharma of the eighteen emptinesses, Adorned with the beautiful ornaments of the six paramitas, With the flourishing leaves of the four immeasurables, The fruits of no birth and no cessation are each clearly manifest. To the profound and vast precious scriptures, I respectfully prostrate with body, speech, and mind, and with pure intention, I take refuge. Anointing the ground with scented water and scattering flowers, This Mount Meru, four continents, adorned with the sun and moon, Visualizing it as an offering to the Buddha's pure land, May all beings enjoy it in a pure realm. By offering this excellent, pleasing mandala, May there be no obstacles on the path to enlightenment, Realizing the intention of the Sugatas of the three times, Not straying into samsara, not abiding in nirvana, May I liberate beings equal to the sky.
