Accomplishing all activities as desired in the mind. Great hero, I shall be your guardian protector of the Dharma. I shall accomplish all activities, thus vowing and making a commitment, contemplate. If desired, raise a deity image or a victory banner. Offer incense and music, and while reciting mantras, place the vajra on the student's head and say, "Tiṣṭha Vajra!" In the presence of the Blessed One, to the person who practices, promising to protect like a son, may the auspiciousness of the body of the Dharma protector guardian come! Thus, scatter flowers. By thus contemplating the body of this Dharma protector and performing invitation, abiding, and offering, this is the empowerment of the body. Now, for the sake of the second empowerment of speech, recite this supplication. Vajradhara, please listen! For the sake of protecting the Buddha's teachings, please grant the empowerment of speech. Thus, three times. Having supplicated in this way, contemplate that red light radiates from the heart of the teacher and dissolves into the heart of the Dharma protector, and from his heart, a garland of mantras radiates like a lightning net, emerging from his mouth.
