All illnesses, bad omens, and inauspiciousness will be pacified. It is said that if this dharani is written down and worn, untimely death will not occur. Therefore, if one receives this empowerment, there is no doubt that untimely death can be averted. By carrying the dharani on the body or writing it in a book and wearing it around the neck, untimely deaths will not occur to the wearer. It is said that sentient beings of the three vehicles, upon hearing the name of Akshobhya Buddha, will be born in the Land of Manifest Joy and attain enlightenment themselves. Upon hearing the name of Akshobhya and gaining faith, they will be born in the Land of Manifest Joy, and in all lifetimes, they will not be born from the womb, etc. The extensive benefits are described in the Karunapundarika Sutra. Remembering Akshobhya Buddha and reciting his name, it is said that all fears, calamities, and harms of epidemics will be pacified. It is also prophesied that holding this Dharma and showing it to others will not lead to regression from Bodhi, and that the defilements of that body will be exhausted, and Arhatship will be attained. It is said that this is not the way for anyone other than Bodhisattvas of profound wisdom, and that this Dharma of Akshobhya is not heard by those with little merit or just anyone. Even if one fills this Jambudvipa (Earth) with gold and jewels and gives them as offerings, one should say, 'May I hear this Dharma of Akshobhya.' It is said that sentient beings with little merit do not hear it, so hearing this means one is endowed with great merit. Having this Dharma of Akshobhya is seeing the Buddha, so it is said to be non-regression, etc. The extensive benefits are described in the Akshobhya Buddha Land Sutra. What need is there to mention if one receives this empowerment? It is said that even if dharani mantras are recited in the ear at the time of death, one will not go to the lower realms. If I obtain it, what need is there to mention liberation from the lower realms? It is said that seeing this written Dharani at the time of death will purify sins. From this very 'Noble Dharani for the Complete Purification of Karmic Obscurations,' if one constantly recites it, all transmissions from one karma to another will become completely purified. If one recites it during the three times, the five heinous crimes will be purified. Thus it is said. Even if one has committed the five heinous crimes, or abandoned the sacred Dharma, or slandered the Noble Ones, even seeing this Dharani mantra written on a wall at the time of death will exhaust all of their karmic obscurations. What need is there to mention wearing and reciting it? The Tathagata Akshobhya himself will come and say, 'Son of good family, come here to me!' Thus it is said. Why is there such great benefit? Because this Akshobhya is the deity mantra that cuts through the obscurations of all Buddhas. From the 'Purifying the Lower Realms Tantra': The essence Dharani called 'Cutting Through the Obscurations of All Tathagatas' was extracted from the hearts of all Tathagatas. Namo Ratna Trayāya.
