Although they are already Buddhas, they generate the mind of enlightenment for the benefit of sentient beings, accumulate merit, purify obscurations, practice for countless eons, and then show the manner of becoming a Buddha again. Thereafter, all one thousand Buddhas of the fortunate eon will descend in order in this Jambudvipa, not only are they all emanations of Avalokiteśvara, but also in a hundred million Jambudvipas, there are a hundred million sets of a thousand Buddhas descending. Moreover, in the world realms equal to the number of fine dust particles of the four elements of the Ganges River, it is said that Buddhas equal to the number of one thousand and two Buddhas will descend.
