Now, the holders of the lineage, and the glorious Drikung, Taglung, and Tsalpa, etc. To the Dagpo Kagyu, the unequaled protector of beings, who have mastered the profound path of Mahamudra, I pray to the Kagyu lamas! Holders of the lineage, please bless liberation! As it is said, "Renouncing attachment is the foundation of practice," for the practitioner who has no attachment to food and wealth, and who has severed the ties of this life, please bless them to be free from attachment to fame and gain! As it is said, "Devotion is the beginning of practice," for the practitioner who constantly prays to the lama who opens the door to the treasury of instructions, please bless them to generate unfeigned devotion! As it is said, "Non-distraction is the main practice," for the practitioner who leaves whatever arises as the raw essence of thought, without alteration, resting in that unaltered state, please bless them to be free from the mind of what is to be meditated upon! As it is said, "The essence of thoughts is the Dharmakaya," for the practitioner who is not anything yet manifests as anything, manifesting as unceasing play, please bless them to realize the inseparability of samsara and nirvana! In all lifetimes, may I not be separated from the true lama, etc. (Recitation complete). This was composed by Bangar Jampal Zangpo. At the time of such prayer, with single-pointed focus and strong faith, pray in the manner of calling to the lama from afar. Because it is said, "Do not pray like a dog barking," even if you are not good at learning the chants, chant with whatever melody the yogi knows. At the time of prayer, with devotion to the lama, with hair standing on end and tears flowing, choking with emotion, with whatever intensity you can muster, display a fervent state, running and jumping, calling to the lama. This is devotion, the beginning of practice. Then, all the lamas on the crown of your head, dissolve into light and merge into the main deity, the Knower of the Three Times. The Knower of the Three Times dissolves into light and merges into oneself. The body, speech, and mind of those Kagyu lamas, contemplate as inseparable from your own body, speech, and mind, like mixing milk into water. Then, look at the essence of whatever arises in the mind. However it arises, do not alter it, rest in the unaltered, non-distracted state. Abandon from the root the desire to be good and the fear of being bad. The realization that arises from the power of devotion will have no obstacles or wrong paths. Thoughts scatter like clouds.

Ra Ga A Sy

Whatever happens, Like water and waves having no good or bad, Abiding, happiness, and clarity bring no improvement. Distraction and bewilderment bring no deterioration. Primordially, the nature of mind is the naked Dharmakaya. Recognizing it, not being distracted, guarding it with mindfulness is enough. Whatever arises, looking at its face, self-liberation, and so on, Is fine at first, but continuously doing that is not necessary. Just the wall of non-distracted mindfulness is enough. That is the real basis of non-distracted meditation. This life is impermanent, like a butter lamp in the wind. Even if you have power and enjoyment, you cannot take them with you. Even if you have many friendly companions and retinue, you cannot lead them. Therefore, cut off attachment and clinging in your mind. To food, wealth, enjoyment, service, and so on, Even if great goodness arises, abandon clinging. In order to purify obscurations and attain enlightenment, dedicate and make aspirations. If it happens naturally, there is no need to deliberately abandon it. Whatever virtuous deeds are accomplished, offer your own body as a mandala. Even if you have it, do not engage in asceticism by not eating food, Nor should you say there is no consideration and quarrel with everyone. Even if you temporarily coordinate with worldly people, But in reality, think that the happiness of gods and humans in samsara cannot satisfy, has little benefit, and great harm. Fearing the ocean of suffering of samsara, In order not to return, go to the pure land of great bliss, Do whatever you can to the best of your ability. This will reverse attachment to the six realms of samsara. Reversing attachment itself is the foundation of meditation. Planting aspirations for happiness in the human body in the next life, How can that be considered reversing attachment? Devotion is the head, non-distraction is the body, Reversing attachment is the foundation of meditation, when these are complete, When the head and foundation of meditation are complete, you will accomplish your wishes. If one of these three is missing, you will not accomplish your goal. No progress is a sign that these three are not complete. The essential points of the Great Seal of the Kagyu tradition Are all contained in this prayer. The sixth Karmapa, holder of the black hat, The eldest son of his son, Jampal Zangpo, In the cave at the foot of Mount Nyenchen Tanglha, Did retreat for eighteen years. Therefore, this prayer has great blessings. In general, it is also a common prayer of the Kagyu lineage. If you visualize clearly and recite this prayer, There is no doubt that it will bring progress in experience and realization. Among them, the most important thing is to generate strong devotion.
