If someone asks, since that is the case, why does it always produce flames? Answer: Those also certainly become obstacles (some who are born in two states, even women can generate the noble path). However, here only the five immediate negativities are shown as obstacles because from the perspective of (five reasons:) basis, result, destination, birth, and person, it is easier to show to others and also easier to establish terms oneself. Among these, the basis for killing one's father, mother, and arhat is killing. The basis for schism in the sangha is lying. Likewise, the basis for drawing blood from the body of the Tathagata with malicious intent is the act of killing. The result is that the result of all of these is unpleasant. The destination is that which causes one to obtain the destination of hell. The birth is because it is karma to be experienced after birth. The person is because it is a person who constantly engages in great afflictions. Some say that the result is hell, the destination is said to exist in the three continents of immediate negativity, therefore the person and individual are merely male and female, and the others are as before. Among these three obscurations, the obscuration of afflictions (because it cannot be restored in many lifetimes) is the worst of all, and then (because it obscures in two lifetimes) the obscuration of karma is second-rate. (They say.) Because these two obscurations also cause one to be unable to recover even in the next life. The Vaibhashikas say that because the former leads to the latter, the former is a greater fault, because the obscuration of afflictions leads to the obscuration of karma, and the obscuration of karma leads to the obscuration of maturation, such as falling into the lower realms, etc. Therefore, the obscuration of maturation is only an obscuration for this very life, while the former two obscurations also obscure in other lives. Among these three obscurations, the five immediate negativities exist in the three continents, but not in the realms of unpleasant sounds and other destinations. Even if there are beings in the lower realms who commit patricide, etc., it does not become an immediate negativity because the thought of evil is not stable and there is no antidote. Gods do not commit patricide, etc., because they are not those with evil thoughts, and the result of karma is manifest. Those with unpleasant sounds also do not.

Because those have the precepts of their own nature, and because there is no teaching there. (The son of the king, the teacher, explains: There are no precepts of body and speech there, so it is unreasonable. What the teacher propagates is reasonable because of the goodness of his own nature, and because it is certain, and because there is no teaching there.) The food of the three continents and what is included by the words such as, it is not desired that the five heinous crimes occur in hermaphrodites and bisexuals either. Why? Because the commentary says that the reason for not having vows is the same reason. For sins, it is also because the mind is not firm, and because they are relatives, those who have vows also have non-vows, so it is the same for those who do not have vows. In addition, when those parents gave birth to them, their senses were incomplete, their compassion was small, and their benefits were small, and like inheriting a fever by nature, those people also have little shame towards their parents. Because most of the sense of shame and embarrassment is lost. Because the benefits and shame are small, it should be known that there are also no pretas and animals. The monk said that other than those born in the three continents, if they are not clear-headed, even if they kill their parents, etc., they will not commit the five heinous crimes. But those who are clear-headed, even if they are animals, if they kill their parents, etc., they will commit the five heinous crimes, just like a horse can understand and not commit sexual misconduct. If it is because they are born with incomplete senses and have little benefit, so killing such parents will not constitute the five heinous crimes, then it would be a fallacy that men and women, the blind and the deaf, would not commit the five heinous crimes if they killed their parents. Here, the so-called incomplete senses refers to the senses that do not have the potential to generate realization, because the blind, etc., have the senses that have the potential to generate realization. Even if one is a human being, but the parents are not human beings, killing them will not constitute the five heinous crimes. The remainder of the karmic obscurations are the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of fruition. These two exist in the five types of beings such as gods. Among them, the obscuration of fruition in the realm of the gods is the non-conceptual beings, and in the human realm it is the unpleasant sound of Uttarakuru.

And, all three lower realms are those possessing the obscuration of maturation. The obscuration of afflictions exists in each of the five types of beings as appropriate.
