The Method of Practicing the Meaning of the Sutra on Severing Karmic Obscurations: The Great Source of Merit. The Method of Practicing the Meaning of the Sutra on Severing Karmic Obscurations: The Great Source of Merit. The Method of Practicing the Meaning of the Sutra on Severing Karmic Obscurations: Called the Great Source of Merit. Homage to the compassionate Teacher! Here, there are three aspects to the method of practicing the meaning of the Sutra on Severing Karmic Obscurations: preparation, main practice, and benefits. First, the place is after the conclusion of confession of downfalls, or in front of the summoned assembly field. Without any entering, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas abiding in the state of self-nature are taken as the object, with strong faith. To all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas abiding in the ten directions, I prostrate and take refuge with great reverence in the three doors. I offer to you all the supreme and excellent, unique, abundant, unsurpassed, vast, and inconceivable clouds of offerings that exist at the end of the realm of space. I offer! I worship! I honor and serve! I regard as the Lama! I please! It is good to say this once or three times, etc. Second, of the four, such as confession, the first is: Kneeling with palms together, reciting three times during the day and three times at night, or even once is fine. Recite like this: I prostrate and take refuge in all the Buddhas, Bhagavat, great compassionate ones of the ten directions and three times! The Buddhas, Bhagavat, are the place of offering, the place of prostration, the place of making images, the knower, the controller, the measure, the one with knowledge, the one with vision, please consider me! When I wander in beginningless samsara, afflicted by desire, hatred, and ignorance, whatever karmic obscurations I have accumulated through body, speech, and mind, not knowing the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and good and non-good, and with evil thoughts drawing blood from the Tathagata, abandoning the Dharma, disrupting the Sangha, killing Arhats and parents, the three of body, four of speech, and three of mind, the ten non-virtuous paths of action, and whatever I have done.

Giving and, rejoicing in what is done, speaking harsh words to some sentient beings, slandering, cheating on scales and measures, making parents unhappy in the cycle of the six realms, stealing the property of individuals or stupas or sanghas or the sangha of the four directions, violating the established precepts, not listening to the instructions of the Khenpo and Acharya, speaking unpleasant words to those who have truly entered the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and the Great Vehicle, as well as other sentient beings, insulting and beating, generating hatred and jealousy towards them, speaking harsh words to the Buddhas due to jealousy and stinginess, saying what is not Dharma is Dharma, and saying what is not Dharma is, due to the obscuration of karmic obscurations, may I, a sentient being, be born in hell, the realm of hungry ghosts, and among the Asuras, may I not please the Three Jewels, and may I be born in unfavorable places, etc., all the karmic obscurations that have been done, are being done, and will be done, together with the karmic obscurations of other sentient beings, before the Buddha Bhagavan, the knower, the eye, the witness, the measure, the one who possesses knowledge and vision, I confess them one by one. I admit. I do not conceal. And I will not do them again in the future. May the ripening of the karmic obscurations that will cause me to be born in unfavorable places ripen in this very life, and may I not experience them in future lives. Just as the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas of the three times, when practicing for the sake of enlightenment, individually confess their karmic obscurations, confess, reveal, do not hide, do not conceal, so too do I individually confess my karmic obscurations. I admit. I do not conceal. And I will not do them again in the future. The Tathagata is the arising of all dharmas dependently, arising from various causes and conditions, and ceasing from others. Therefore, whatever past dharmas there are, their cessation, extinction, separation, transformation.

All these formations arise from emptiness of their own nature. For them, there is not even a little karmic obscuration. All phenomena are empty of essence, without self, without sentient beings, without life, without person, unborn, unceasing, unconditioned. By the truth of the completely pure realm of phenomena thus spoken, may my karmic obscurations be purified and exhausted. Second, the aggregate of rejoicing: Furthermore, in the realms of the ten directions, whatever sentient beings of the three times have manifestly accumulated objects of merit arising from generosity, ethics, and meditation, and all that will be accumulated; and the merit of all bodhisattvas who generate the first thought, who arise through hundreds of eons, who obtain tolerance of unborn phenomena, who are irreversible, and who are bodhisattvas with only one birth remaining; and whatever roots of virtue the bodhisattvas of the three times manifestly accumulate and will accumulate while practicing for enlightenment, endowed with the six perfections; and whatever roots of virtue the Buddhas, the Bhagavat of the three times, have turned and will turn the wheel of Dharma, from causing to enter into pacification until entering; and whatever roots of virtue are generated and will be generated by the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, and the Bodhisattva Vehicle, or other sentient beings, I rejoice in all of them with supreme rejoicing. Rejoicing is sacred, principal, special, best, excellent, rich, supreme, unsurpassed, unequaled, equal, unequal, and I rejoice with equality. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have granted rejoicing, so I rejoice. Third, the aggregate of urging and requesting: Furthermore, I prostrate to all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who dwell in the realms of the ten directions. I urge them to turn the wheel of Dharma.
